The storyteller's name (Bragi) is named after the Norse god of storytelling to which we get the word 'bragging' from. Every year on Yuletides day, the Norse chieftain swore upon the god Bragi to do one major thing that year (make peace with another tribe, etc.) and sometimes they would swear far too much and people would catch them on their crap and they would say that the chief was bragging hence where we get the word from.

I'm sorry for doing this again but I just LOVE Norse mythology 😍. The part where they are having a drinking contest is likely a reference to an old Norse story where Thor and Loki (a third guy joins them later in the story) go on a quest to kill the Jotün Skrymrir (I think I spelled the name right 😂) but on the way they come across a Jotün who promises to take them to him but first they have to stop off at his castle. At the Jotün's castle they are welcomed to a contest where if they win the Jotün will take them to Skrymrir, if not then they must leave Jotünheim adn never come looking for Skrymrir again. Loki is challenged to an eating contest but loses. The guy who accompanies them is challenged to a foot race and loses. Finally, Thor is challenged to a drinking contest where he must drink all the beer from the horn however, he notices that no matter how much he drinks, the horn never empties. The Jotün laughs and reveals himself to be Skrymrir all along. He tells them that the Loki's opponent was fire and nothing could consume more than it. The second guy's opponent was death who no one could outrun. And Thor was only drinking the water from the sea to which he drank so much that the sea level fell excessively low (explaining why there is a low tide at times). The three go back to Valhalla heads low and never return to Skrymrir's castle as was per the agreement.

I remember an old ballad called 'Black Shuck' sung by minstrels calling themselves 'The Darkness'. ''In a town in the east, parishioners visited upon by a curious beast. His eyes numbered one & shone like the sun. A glance beckoned the loss of a cherished one...It was the coming of the Black Shuck, Black Suck...That dog don't give a F**k!''

Looks cool. Why not just call the game Valhalla and just remove all the assassin's creed BS? A viking game sounds kick-ass but it being tied to assasin's creed just seems arbitrary. Much like how the last game should have just been called Odyssey.

The cat curled up on the boat was too cute. I had to rewind the video to listen to what was being said.

14:42 oh, this almost reminds me of the Valkyrie fights in GoW! They’ve got enough time to clean up the movements and the camera problems during combat, but I’ll probably be getting this game. Thanks for the video all’z’youZ!!!

Rap battles, stories on a sea journey and rock stacking looks to be something i’m going to spend some time in.

Fun fact, if you kill Cordelia and her sisters, you unlock another side mission that takes you to their mansion and then you have 4/5 parts of Thor's Amour, 5th is obtained after you dismantle the Order and then u can get Thor's hammer in Norway

When Eivor says "im known for my might" in the rap battle, the accent reminds me of james kidd from AC4.

Rhyme battling? Drinking contests? Cursed items that lead you to evil? This looks like an updated Monkey Island. I'm in!

Have you heard The Darkness song called 'Black Shuck'? "THAT DOG DON'T GIVE A F...." 😂

I was getting a real God of War feeling from that Black Shuck fight.

I'll be honest, I love the Black Shuck business. Mostly because I was fascinated by black dog myths almost immediately upon hearing of them. I'm also pretty excited for the drinking contests and the Flyting

I’ve only watched play throughs, but I thought the most hilarious activity was getting to go trick or treating! Adding that was really clever!

Where I live, there's a creek where someone does the rock stacking... My favorite pass time when I see one is grabbing stones of my own and tossing them at the stacked rocks until they fall.

I'm pretty much excited for everything about this game lol. My sister moved to Norway last year so I've been getting into all the Viking stuff! I'm really glad you can pet/cuddle cats and dogs again. I missed that in Odyssey. Also getting more of the lore sounds really neat

Rhyme Suggestion for why that dog made you trip: You couldn't help it, that *fog* made it easy to *slip* .

Not going to lie, I lost my shi..... er stuff when I saw that you can actually pick up the cats for a cuddle, or that the side eye I got from own cat was anything short of utterly contemptuous.

Over a dog, you did trip. Easy as a log, off of which you do slip.

I'm glad I saw this. Between the sad side missions and that Cordelia battle looking like another broken controller in my future, I think this may be the first AC game I actively pass on. Not my cup of mead, this one.
