I appreciate you’re being adventurous enough to share with us. Thank you. I enjoyed spending my time with your old time. Somehow our time together met somewhere in space, although I only know of it now that we’re spending time together, which will be of another time when you’re reading this that we’ll spend time together, except that I won’t know of it because as I said we’re meeting up in two different time spaces.😏🧐something to think about🤨anyway…I got a kite like that too. Had mine a few years ago, immensely enjoyed flying it. Happy flying with yours. Now I hope that you’ll be in 👀 lookout for kite flying weather.

Not had much wind recently, although I did fly one of my kites about a week ago. Some videos on the 9th and 10th of April on that one.

when that kind of kite was introcuced way back it was pretty expensive, because of the kevlar, carbon parts, i don't know if there are cheaper alternatives to those

Glass fibre rods are heavier for the same dimensions and probably more flexible. so Carbon Fibre is better.

You have shown us how to assemble the kite. Now lets fly together and see who does better skills. lol

I think you fly far more often then me so there would be no contest. I suspect just showing where the instructions were hidden in the package was all that was needed in this video. 😁👍

You can make this kite RC controlled; motor on the front and elevon mixing with long thin rods or with a pod underneath. Maybe funny to use a (heavy) RC car to control the kite.

That would effectively be a flexwing as they were called or a microlight as they are commonly seen now. Back in the 60s or 70s I built a control line flexwing when I was properly into aeromodelling. Never did RC back then.

Of course controlling the flight by adjusting the strings might be more of an issue although I know you can buy RC hang gliders that use realistic controls for the body position and hand control.

Hi Grandad, I've been missing in action for months with internet problems, i'd got my phone but not much data, but I'm back on line now and next week BT finally install super fast fiber optic in our street !! That kite is probably a Lidl example, the Aldi version has a straight trailing edge and is branded Crane kites, a couple of years go i met a mother and daughter try to fly one of these, it was proving very difficult to get it away from the ground and was very 'edgy' in flight, i shortened the front bridle legs with the smallest knots i could tie and after that they could get the kite zooming around the sky without it constantly getting the better of them. A seasoned stunt kite flyer would probably get this kite zooming about without any alterations but if there are any beginners reading this the small alteration with the knots could help.

Hi Ian, good to see you are OK, I had worried that I hadn't seen anything from you for a while. By coincidence, I had actually given your name and channel to somebody recently who wanted some guidance on a particular kite. It might even have been this one but I can't spot the comment at the moment.

Thanks Marc, not sure why I haven't flown this one. I did buy one for my daughter and one for myself and I did wonder if it was the one I bought her and had forgotten to give it to here. I messaged her today and she think this one is mine, so maybe I just forgot about it.
