I love my Patton but lynx is what I really wanted, a Patton with a larger wheel. As long s lynx has comparable torque, I’ll upgrade next spring. Veteran has impressed me with build quality and design principles.

I'm in Utah and its starting to snow on my favorite trails, so I'm loving seeing all these videos and being able to live vicariously. I'm liking the look of the lynx, and liking even more the response its sure to incite from Begode and Extremebull

"don't open up the nicely sealed controller if I don't have to" YES. side note, some older small wheels actually have the wire connections in a separate "compartment".

I may have to get this wheel. If I can find it under $4 grand lemme know if they sell these anywhere with a deal better than $4199 ... $3699 would be much nicer for that size battery and all. I never owned a veteran but really like them & this should hold me for the yr... I hate that so many wheels come out... I want one every yr..

awesome. I love the way they did the controller. Thats the way I would build a controller cover. A main component for the controllers, with battery plugs going out. Waterproofing the controllers. The main problem is having to change out tire and having to remove the motor wire. Hopefully its long enough. Then on top of that sits a cover to protect against rain. I really like that design. But their failure point once again is not having a proper crown/bracket to hold the fork suspension. And im still skeptical about the clamp on the bottom of the suspension that directly goes over the axle.

I just pre-ordered the Lynx a couple weeks ago, a big upgrade from my V5F! Can you give a tutorial on how to set and adjust the suspension? I need a good starting point because ive never had suspension on a wheel.

@ElectricUnicycles 10 ай бұрын
Congratulations. The suspension is the same type that is on the Sherman S and Patton. Search for those tutorials and I'm sure you'll find the adjustment guidance that you need.

So, these higher voltage wheels will be the fastest, even with the smaller motors?

Ok, I’m struggling with the trolley handle and re attaching it, is there some helpful tip of keeping the small metal rods in place to push the handle down far enough to screw in?
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 4 ай бұрын
Sorry, I can't think of any tips. As trolley mechanisms go, there's nothing special about the Lynx one. They are operate on the same principle.

Hello, i Had over tightened and stripped one of my battery bolt screws on the LYNX (the 5MM hex , part of the 8 screws on the middle battery box). From my time trying to get it out, i caused more damage and stripped it really good. The bolt is still flush with the case. I just want to verify with you if those screws are M6X12MM ? Also, im learning as I go with using tools and things and how would i get the stripped bolt out? If it extractor, what would the sizing i would need to get? I cant seem to find anything related to m6x12mm. Thank you. Yes this is for the LYNX

Sorry to hear of your difficulties. I always have to "think" about metric sizing and such and therefore don't have a ready answer for your in terms of the bolt size. I'd have to spend time looking into it. Fortunately for you, there isn't a wide range of sizes available so I'm sure the number that you came up is the correct one. There's a fair amount of redundancy. To be honest, if I were in your position I would consider leaving it as-is. One bad bold out of 8 is not going to have a material effect on the integrity of the wheel, IMO.

@@ElectricUnicycles Thanks for your reply. The M6x12 was mentioned in your video when you took the bolts out a plastic bag. I would leave it as is, but i also would like access to the internals of the wheel, from both sides in case of suspension , motor, or tire issues. (future minded). lol

Cool video 👍😍 Could you give me the size of the inox screws we can see everywhere ? I would like to replace these by black screws and with a smaller head 🤪 I hesitate between M4 and M5 for these screws with the two washers.

How do you remove the pedals and attach them to the new lowered hangers? I bought the erides pedal hangers but I'm scared to remove the original pedals without screwing it up. A quick tutorial on that would be appreciated. I know you switched to the erides pedals, but I just want to put the stock pedals on the lowered hangers. Is that possible?
@ElectricUnicycles
@ElectricUnicycles 8 ай бұрын
Sorry, I don't have the time to create a tutorial video for you. There is a rubber/plastic piece secured with two very small Phillips head screws on the end of each pedal rod. Remove those rubber/plastic pieces and then remove the small friction mechanism. Then the pedal rods will be accessible for removal. You'll also have to loosen the set screw (one pedal rod) before attempting to remove the rods. Good luck

This wheel is awesome, but Begode Master costs half the price and the speed and power is very similar. Also proper Michelin street tire fits on the Master :). BTW does it have PWM tiltback like the Patton? I haven't seen that in any video so far. For sure I think it is not in the app... Looking forward to your next video Marty! Keep up the great work!

I have a Master and I like it, but it doesn't compare in terms of build quality and strudiness. The headlight and taillight on the master can break if you sneeze near it.

Hard to say that acceleration / top speed will be similar without IRL tests. The Master V3 has a 3500 W (6000W peak motor) vs the Lynx 3200W (8000W peak motor). The V3 has 2400 Wh of lower discharge rate 50E cells in a 134.4V pack to fuel its motor, whereas the Lynx has 2700 Wh of higher discharge rate 50S cells (100% higher amp rating) in a 151V pack. I imagine the Lynx pack can put out a lot more peak power. The 50S does have a much lower cycle life though, and are as much as 75 cents more expensive per cell (probably less with bulk cell orders in China). However, they can operate and be charged at higher temperatures, so less worry about overheating them or having to cool them before plugging in. They can also be charged faster. The V3 has 24 mosfets vs the Lynx 32 mosfets. Then of course there's build quality. The Masters are known for self destructing in the event of a crash, so require buying additional bumper systems. Their geometry from factory isn't great, and people are upgrading linkages / shocks as well, but on the bright side it can be modified unlike the Veteran suspension. The Lynx has built in bumpers / handles, the toe lock pad, and I'm not sure but it may include a set of fairly decent pads? Pricing is about performance and build quality. Master V3 is only half the price with manufacturers warranty (MW) from EUCDeals whose still offering it for $1900. Begode's forcing the MW sellers to hike their prices... right before black friday no less, but the $1900 V3 seems to have survived the hikes for now. The big store distributors' lowest price is $2600 (Eevees). There is at least one MW seller offering the Lynx for $3800. The stores all have it for $4200. The V4 with 32 mosfets, better control board, better build quality, better screen, and I think it has new handles/quasi-bumpers to pick it up has gone up to $2500 w/ 50E cells, $2700 with 50S cells. That'll probably be over $3k from stores. If i were comparing prices directly, I'd compare the Lynx to the V4 w/ 50S cells.
