Exactly, the old 5.0 litre "even-firing" V10 was developed by Lamborghini, while the later 5.2 litre "odd-firing" V10 is solely developed by Audi for use in their cars and Lamborghini. I do believe the 5.2 shared some parts with the 4.2 V8, but not quite sure.
@cafe88racer536 жыл бұрын
think it was two rs3 engines but no turbos lol
@AliYassinToma6 жыл бұрын
Well audi owns lambo so lambo has to use the lambo engine cuz its better and they dont want to spend money making a new engine . And yes it shares some parts with the 4.2 v8
@sharg06 жыл бұрын
The "5.2" has at least three main incarnations: Even firing 5.2 used in the S6 and S8 (discontinued models). Odd firing 5.2 in Gallardo, Huracan and R8. Even (?) firing 5.1(!) and turbocharged in the RS6 C6-generation. IIRC both bore and stroke was reduced. And yes it did get it's backbone from the 4.2 V8. An unusual thing for Audi is that the 5.2 doesn't have steel liners but coated aluminium bores. I do not know if the internals of the R8/Lambo engines share other significant parts except the block but I assume the crank is the same. Very sweet engine, had an S6 for a while - to heavy to be fun but oh what an engine.
@AliYassinToma6 жыл бұрын
R K audi and lambo share the same engine almost no diffrence they sound the same rev the same accelerate the same .
@martiszx6 жыл бұрын
Gallardo = 1st gen Audi R8, Huracan = 2nd gen Audi R8. Same engine, same gearbox, same acceleration, different body, very different price, lol.

It makes me cringe knowing your not using o-ring lubricant on the soft seals. Also a dummy pin at the same crank diameter will help you when torquing the crank shaft. Machine a dummy pin at the same diameter of the crank mild steel. Torque caps until a slight friction is felt on dummy pin. Do this on all bearing caps. Mark bolts with a metal scribe mark ie straight line. Take bearing caps back off notating the bolts to the corresponding holes. Install crank with a high density lubricant as to not scratch bearings. Torque bearing caps to the scribe mark, you just added 50k miles to the engine. Rotating the crank as you torquing can mildy wear down bearing rings. By uaing the dummy pin your saving yourself time and not hurting the bearing rings. Make sure you get the crank dummy pin cnc machined ahouldnt cost more than 200$ your motor will make more power and last longer.
