Not quite as simple as it appears on the surface once you start looking at it.

Fab projects can sometimes take a little time to plan out. Anyone who fabs much knows about that. Done with thinking ahead, rather than rushing through it always pays off for sure. I'm sure it is going to be awesome when you are finished. I like to fab stuff, so this is going to be a fun project watch as it comes together.

One cylinder on each wing, with a linkage almost like an excavator bucket to make it fold more over center for more narrow transport. Either way, you'll figure out how you want to do it and it will turn out nicely. I agree with sandblasting it. Makes it much easier and enjoyable to weld on. What color would you paint it?
@Oliver66FarmBoy

It sounds like sandblasting the frame will make it a whole lot easier later, It looks like you will have quite a bit of time fabricating to set up the way it needs to go. Good luck 🤞 Thanks Michael

If that tank is in good shape it could be used as a propane tank for a grain dryer. My Grandpa did that when he stopped using anhydrous ammonia.

Maybe 40 years ago. Today there isn’t a single LP supplier that is going to certify and fill a used Anhydrous tank for liability reasons alone…

That one part of the frame you thought was added on to might of had a hinge on their to fold up and the outside one back, that's how ours originally was. The outside shank folded back then the next one folded up

I was thinking if you need to the wheel spacing, maybe take and use the other axel. Cutting the straps looked more climatic that cutting the tank up.

Might be easier to use wing hinge on scrap bar? Shanks on wings could fold to the rear. Would be manual fold and not need hydraulics. Will this be 7 or 9 row to follow planter? Guys use 11 shanks following 12 row planters.

Anhydrous won't burn, but it will tell you if you have asthma. Had an incident at my old high school many moons ago, local Co-op had just filled the anhydrous tanks, and the relief valves opened. Was a marching band competition at the high school, and our football field was the low point to where all the anhydrous went. Found out who had asthma that day...........
