Really nice to see you in some tense racing just after surviving Cadwell myself on LFM. Love the track, its like one of these Mario Karts tracks, with the giant flesh eating flowers that all of a sudden pick you of the the track and spit you out again, when you least expect it😅

The same thing happened to me yesterday! I actually got to do the last lap with a broken suspension and the car pushing to the right lol it's a tight margin of error and playing on a controller seems to make this margin even smaller but it's been awesome. I'm enjoying LFM so much! Great video!

Man, that was so unlucky. Been there. 6 seconds in the lead at Watkins Glen then threw it away on the penultimate lap. But all in all, that was an impressive drive. I've only driven Caldwell once in a community race and it's got to be one of the trickiest circuits out there. The lesson I learned, and hope you have, is that this late in the race, you need to go into race management mode. No point going hell for leather if there's only a slim chance of getting a better result.

That is absolutely the lesson I’ll learn! It was such bad judgement. Even if I had got closer to him, there’s no real overtaking opportunity through that final section. So it certainly wasn’t worth the risk to push!

😞 Shame about that last lap. We've all been there, too often in my case. I've driven Cadwell Park in an F4 car (FF1600) many years ago. It is really narrow and very difficult to get right. I remember discovering on the last lap of my race that if you can hook up your inside front wheel really tight into turn 1, the camber holds the car and you can get a lot more speed ( a slight lift only). Otherwise, the rest of the circuit is down to practice - lots of it.

My 1st and only race in LFM AC was at Mugello. First race, so it was an easy lobby where I had a comfortable lead going into what I'd calculated to be the last lap. Didn't take enough fuel and wasn't far enough ahead to basically stop before the Finish line for time to run out. Tried to get a screen cap of the ridiculousness of what I'd done, but when I hit Print Screen I forgot that GeForce makes you select another option on How you want to Copy which means my screen was effectively locked. By the time I grabbed the mouse and got it selected, I'd totalled my car on the straight while watching 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th etc pass. Easy lobby and should have been an easy win. 😆🤧

Well we've all been there, often when i'm in similar situation, i say to myself "oh come on, you're trying too much" 😂 btw my best result with ac at lfm so far was P2 in second split with lmp3 @ le mans - made it to P3 on merit (mostly because people in front kept on crashing themselves out :) ) - and with 3 laps to go the guy in P2 got drivethrough, so unexpected bonus for me :)

Yeah, I had that exact spin a couple of times in practice, so it’s not like I wasn’t warned. As for the tyres, this is the first race I’ve changed them from default. I added two clicks for each tyre, so it was 27psi hot. Someone told me last week to aim for that.

Unlucky but ridiculously easy to do as I have found out during my races 😂 Using SOL or Pure for your graphics and how do you make the replay brighter ?

Yeah, so the dark replay was really bugging me with my early videos, but I found the solution. In the replay, if you open up the Sol Weather app from the right menu, you’ll see a load of + and - buttons that you can use to change the time of the day. It also runs dad today’s date, so I’ve found it gets even brighter if you jump forward through the dates as well, and move it to summer time. Hope that helps!

I think in this case, it was just a careless error on my part! I had the exact same spin a couple of times on new-ish tyres during prectice… it’s an off-camber corner and so easy to lose the rear with just a touch too much speed!

Hey, Chris, I have a few questions about LFM on AC. I thought you could choose between different classes/combos of cars/tracks, but I only see Season 12 - Green Hell which is a GT3/4 car on the Nordschleife. No Mazda MX-5 and such. Is the calendar fixed for a certain type of cars/track combos for a month or so?

Ahh yes, it’s the week between seasons, this week. Season 12 finished on Sunday, and they usually have a break of 1-2 weeks before starting a new season. So race options will be limited this week, but all the usual series will return in a week or so when Season 13 starts 👍
