Hey Jimmy, I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of the company ‘Superformance’. They make recreations of Shelby Cobra’s and GT40’s, but not just any recreation. They are licensed by the great Carroll Shelby himself, meaning these cars come as close to the original as possible. I know it’s not an original one, but I can imagine it's just as sensational to drive (and absolutely not as destructive for your wallet if you happen to damage it). So please, keep on dreaming of ever driving a Ford GT40, because this dream might be closer than you think ;) By the way, thank you very much for the incredible content, I love it!

Not sure if you've tried it already, but if not, try the Ford Escort RS1600 in VR with no traction control or any fancies. There's a special event for it too. That car is outrageously addictive, slow, but its an absolute roar in every corner! Just try it once and you'll know exactly what I mean!

Yea man I've got an amateur setup at the moment, wheel stand pro with a TX base, the alcantara ferrari rim, T3PA Pro pedals and a Vive. I want a proper direct drive wheel and a chassis like a Next Level Racing F1, but yea man I'm a beast on sim racing! Can't post it that stuff to this channel but I have thought about doing stuff on another one!

Jimmy Broadbent, P1075 (the very chassis your driving) is as well my favorite car. I highly recommend buying the Book Racing in the Rain by John Horsman. He was part of the Gulf Wyer team, from start to finish and beyond. Super informative, right down to race notes and carb float specs. I got the chance to oversee and collect information for P1075 for the Rolex Moments in Time Museum at Laguna Seca back in 09'. The car is spectacular, the owner though is quite rude.

Wow that was an incredible race awesome driving! That's also my favorite car have you been able to drive the new Ford GT race car yet? Amazingly fast with it's tiny endurance racing built 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 that I believe are restricted to only 480 HP racing in IMSA, and FIA or at least that's what they were restricted to after qualifying, and weight was added during their repeat first, second, third win at LeMans 50 years after the 1,2,3 in 1966. Granted the current endurance Ford GT doesn't race in the fastest class like back in the 60's but nonetheless an incredible car. I think that Ford did an absolutely amazing job on the new Ford GT, and love the way they built the race car first, torture tested it on race tracks for 2 years, and then built the streetcar which I think was the first time it's ever been done like that from an auto manufacturer. Ford is really stepping up their game when it comes to building world-class sportcars like the Ford GT the amazing Mustang Shelby GT350R that most classify as a true pure sports car now reving to 8250 RPM with a 526 HP 5.2L N/A Mod Motor with a flat plane crank in a Mustang of all cars not to mention the first carbon fiber wheels on a mass-produced production car with insane brakes, and handling. Randy Pobst from Motor Trend ran a 1:36.11 at Laguna Seca only like 1.25 seconds behind the Camaro ZL1 1LE Track Pack edition with 650 supercharged HP, and dssv Multimatic dampeners solid mounted to the chassis (a mistake in my opinion) which on paper should have been much much faster than the Shelby GT350R but it isn't. LOL

I was lucky to see a real original GT40 sometime around mid-2010s at a car show in Reno NV. It was silver, beautiful and awesome. I love this track mod, I need to try it out. Great driving, I'm struggling to get the hang of this game. I blame my oldass wheel, but it's probably just me sucking. It's a funny game. I can never seem to live up to my expectations and so it does nothing but piss me off, yet I keep coming back to it. I guess it's like playing golf.

some facts for those interested: the 40 in GT 40 is the height of the car in inches and this colour scheme is from the Gulf sponsored one, and this car was build in response to Ferrari dominance in LeMans.

That GT40 in the picture is the 1967 Le Mans winning car, I believe. I've seen it before when a guy was giving rides in it at a hill climb. He owned the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cars at one point.

I used to work for a Mustang and Ford aftermarket company and they'd have car shows twice a year. We had a customer that owned a real GT40 and would bring it to show off. I got to sit in it once. I love the seats with the metal grommeted holes, BTW. I can't even imagine what it's like to blast one around a circuit.

Jimmy Broadbent is an epic driver!!! The best thing i play is forza 4 and that is as far as i think it is possible go with enjoying a realistic handling game with an xbox controller because of its epic aptitude. For further sim enjoyment i will have to buy a decent set of pedals and a wheel to fully be in control with best modern sim games like assetto corsa and projects cars 2. I Already tried to play them with x box controller and it was barely driveable on the limit since assetto corsa nor project cars 2 are not built to tolerate the xbox controller for obvious reasons. They are full on simulation games. It is always borderline fun to watch him drive on the limit and commentate on the same time. Brilliant.

The excellent XJ13 mod also fits well as a "what-if" scenario (it never raced IRL, and only one was produced.) However, it's super fast compared to the GT40, 908, and 330P4.

Hi Jimmy, love your videos. Manual gear changing in Assetto Corsa with H-pattern shifter and clutch always seems to work fine but have you had any luck wth manual changing in GT Sport. For me it seems to go okay for a short time but then you end up with a gearbox of neutrals... It's a common complaint apparently so I'm surprised the problem hasn't been fixed yet

Hey Jimmers....you should go watch Chris Harris On Car episode about the Daytona winning Jaguar XJR-9 GTP. Then go do a race at Daytona in Project Cars 2 and let us know what you think.
