Check the gravel stages you don't like manually: open folder\surfaces\check or add line "DIRT_ADDITIVE=1" and also "_EXT_SURFACE_TYPE_MODIFIER" It "adjusts SurfacesFX behavior for sand, grass and gravel. Default value is REGULAR" You can choose between LOOSE; REGULAR and FIRM depending on what is more suitable for a particular stage.

I'm not trying to praise EA WRC, but I think it's a bit unfair to compare games from an era that was more mod-friendly with games from an era that was more mod-unfriendly.

EA WRC or any dirt rally game in general are not mod friendly because the devs want it like that, thats why the only mod we have in the entire saga is the RFPE for dirt rally 1 (which isnt even that big of a deal to begin with) and nothing since that game. blame codemasters for being like this

RBR is as mod-unfriendly as EAWRC, you can't just drop a new car or stage file in and expect it works like in AC or BNG, the only reason we have mod is it's been hacked. And it's nothing "era", many recent game like MSFS, ACE, BeamNG are mod-friendly.

I think you're overrating Assetto Corsa. Like you said at the beginning, it's not a rally simulator. They've made some changes to how skid marks on ground look, but otherwise it's still circuit racing simulator. Tarmac or gravel, it's not rally physics.

As long as the car data is accurate it works like in any sim lol, it doesn't magically can't work just bc the game is made for circuit racing (it's not though, it's made for all kind of driving, it comes with a hillclimb track for a reason)

Also CSP expands a lot the possibilities and depth of physics to the point it has absolutely nothing to do with the game's original physics. Any good quality mod from nowadays is eons better than kunos cars, with all due respect to their work

Yep, "it comes with a hillclimb track for a reason" it's good point. As for the tarmac, I have no doubt that this is a proper rally here. On the other hand gravel is a very demanding category. But here too, in my opinion, everything is not bad. These are not only skid marks on ground. And I have complaints about gravel. The braking distance sometimes seems too long to me and the feedback is not yet perfect. But guys continue to work on this. So far so good.

Are you kidding me? Assetto Corsa looks much better with "same realistic physics". How can you say that RBR - this gameplay for Windows 3 is still better? I always suspected that the RBR community is just a cult. Apparently when you get there, you lose touch with reality completely. EA WRC it's a joke, even though it looks quite good, but RBR better compared to Assetto Corsa is complete nonsense.

EA Sports WRC biggest failure is the fact of the bugs in game looks awesome but just losing FFB in game is just a big no no for me I went back to WRC 10 not an issue at all just goes to show

Never happens to me in WRC but my biggest problem is no proper triple screen support. I have to use hood cam sometimes because some cars look so bad in cockpit view.

@ yeah the game decides if the controller input been changed and when connect wheel and pedals handbrake and shifter again no FFB so restart game restart wheel etc it’s a pain. It’s all over Reddit been a known bug for a while they apparently fixed but is still there

The mods from assettorallygrb are stolen and obsolete af, you should use kronos mods. Way more cars and better quality both model and physics wise

I found a post on Reddit about this. Weird. I liked some of the car mods I downloaded from there. And they were all free. Thanks for the recommendation anyway. Gonna test Kronos mods in a few days. Found them on Discord. Too bad they don't have a website like this. It's way more convenient.

Actually EA WRC "physics" are not correlated to real life, as all games in Dirt series. Author quickly mentions It, the most pronounced wrong effect is the "car's pivot point". Turning Dynamics on code masters games are set in a unrealistic way so broder audience can enjoy sideways driving with ease. There are videos around that clearly demonstrates that, If you are interested.

@@paulo..ferreira its called center pivot and has been a thing since the old colin mcrae games, i seriously dont understand why this is not properly known because a lot of ppl think codemasters games (more specifically dirt rally/WRC24) are sims when they dont even simulate car physics at all to begin with

They can show you how the 3D model movement rendering is different in several following cameras view point, which is absolutely not related to any physics and not evidence at al.. Assetto's lose surface physiscs is far from reality, and worst of all of these games.

@@misael9154 Not true. It's somple to check. In 3rd person view drive a car slowly and turn your steering wheel slowly to left or right then you'll see front of the car will turn first. So the pivot point CAN'T BE in the middle. A slavic guy made a video about DR 2.0 a few years ago with this behaviour but this is not the case in EA WRC 24.
