I have ALWAYS struggled with them!😂 To do just a few full range of motion reps is a max effort for me, so this allows me to the training frequency I need to improve without over stressing my bad shoulders and recover ability. Aloha🤜🤛

Pullups were my nemesis too, I hooked up a pully to the top of the bar and a counter weight with a cable, with a grip that was attached to my foot. It's THE BEST way to practice. It will help the full range of motion and you can control the weight perfectly. All the best

I am in UK time is 17.00hrs I am 81and do 100 p/ups before B/fast plus some stretching, push ups in sets of 20 , 30 secs rest in-between followed by 20 free squats and stretching. In the afternoon i do some band and cable work pull downs sets of 10 ,arm raisers , then some bench press ups with 2 15 kg dumbbells then some squats with the same two dumbbells my kit is all gym standard power bands and cables and bars keeps me active and some walking plus a healthy diet.

Sir… Thank you, I’m approaching 50 soon and it’s great insight to use partial/assisted reps when my joints aren’t feeling it. I get motivation to keep going. God bless you for your mindfulness. And Yes, it would be brutal to take a strap to the balls or face.😂 I close my eyes just in case. Don’t forget to enjoy your beautiful beaches in your beautiful state. Respect to you!

U can try contract-relax upper traps first, then during your pull up isometrically contract inner thighs and glue them together, and contract transverse ab, pelvic floor, and glutes.. Try to also "push" arms up upom your decent. By relaxing upper traps you encourage lower traps to work more. By activating the core, glutes, and abs you "lighten" the weight of your body. By pushing up upon decent u tend not to relax too much but u get full stretch on extension which means it feels like your pulling up less dead weight. Also consider doing eccentric pull ups and use a ladder to start high above the bar. One interesting thing that could help is stretch ur trceips out first but I tend to be super tight in triceps Good luck!

Awesome work, sir! I am 61 years old and do something similar. I stand on a box that puts me right at chin over the bar. This allows my legs to assist in a squatting motion. I get some squats in as well as some pull ups. At age 55, I was up to 15 unassisted pull ups using this method of training. It allows you to get reps in. Not sure how many unassisted I can do now, haven’t tried. Had right shoulder surgery in 2021. Old man being very careful these days.

Timely - btw my bands arrived a week ago - got tired of doing many reps in all exercises except pull ups and felt like my 59 year old wrists and shoulders were being compromised with dead body weight . Range and volume both up and like you say very fun and confidence building and more muscle less joint jerking to get to the top of the rep
