Yes they are! I haven’t met too many psychiatrists like Dr. Jackie who say advocate for yourself and ask questions! I wish I would’ve years ago. I learned the hard way but on the way to full healing! ❤

Thank you! This is not the attitude I was met with in my encounters with many drs who use polypharmacy. I finally have a great psychiatrist tapering my meds! She’s awesome. Meds are not the end all be all for everyone! I want to see the stigma within the field end as well. I was met with large stigma mainly by the group of drs and nurses within the field. It’s sad. Not all are like that! You aren’t and my dr isn’t! This is a breath of fresh air for me. I am looking to go into the field! Almost finished with my bachelors then praying about med school! Either that or psychology to a PhD.

Great video! I’m on my 3rd year of medical college in Brazil rn and I want to be psychiatry in the future. I would love to see a video about your daily life in the hospital/clinic. Also, I want to know what do you think about psychiatry residency for IMGs, since the relation between doctor and patient is so important in this field, I’m afraid about how patient and colleagues would act.

the world is becoming smaller and smaller in the sense that the more diverse our patient population becomes, the more important it is for our doctors to reflect them. it is so important that we have physicians that are just as diverse as the patients we treat!
