Hardest maniacs in world history. Created the 'mountain of skulls' meme. So excited for Assyria.

“Assyrian may have some of the best armies in the game”. Hmm, considering what Assyria is about to unleash on the Middle East, over the next 5+ centuries, that’s not surprising at all. After Tiglath-Pileser III, Assyria pretty much became unstoppable.

It's a Hell of a campaign. Lots of fun but really hard. It takes long before you ever get to produce horses, always short of stone, hard to keep 10-15 stacks armies with 13 regions, when your enemies invade your lands constantly from all corners with 20 units supported by only 2 regions. +4/8 building stack is insufficient to keep production at "acceptable levels", admin under control, and all the benefits of military buildings. You are lucky if you manage to build 1-2 buildings per turn with decrees and edits focusing in minery. However, once the horses are there, it's easy to cause numerous causalities and play hit and run. Acadian infantry is also a total smasher.

To make it easy, sell the territories north of you to assyria for resources and/or defensive alliance. This would limit the areas where you can be attacked. Assyria serves as buffer state for enemies to break their armies before getting to your territories. Same with other directions you don't plan to expand at the moment. Start a limited war and sell them back the territories you get plus non aggression pacts.

@@rindonnolasco7718 lol, the post is about Assyria, "we" are Assyria. I finished the campaign conquering the entire game. The best is conquering nonstop to have enough resources for more armies.

As an Assyrian here , I have waited years to see my people in this game ! After all we created the first professional army in the history of man kind ! Ashur will rise in 2050 !

Your general also comes with a chariot to equip from the beginning.

I dont think the +6 and +8 buildings stack, looking at the smaller text they affect different things, +8 to generals when recruited and +6 to units when recruited

Also King of Hanigalibat gets unique chariot mount at start so Tukilti Ninurta can start with high tier ranged chariot

I am truly enjoying this faction since I really like assyria and babylon. Which are the best assyrian or babylonian units for you guys?
@rindonnolasco77182 ай бұрын
The level 2 chariots. They only need food so you can spam them together with spearmen.

Kind of confused how the factions work here as Assyria seems to be so decentralised. And waring factions still have positions in the court.

I find outposts crap. It just seems the construction in the regions is so scattered. 3 super expensive not very useful outposts that get wrecked all the time on top of the regular region construction. Someone cares to unpack?
@janrobertalvarez62703 ай бұрын
They are op when done right. Religion outposts are too op especially deities with province buffs and add 9 elite units to a fort for easy defense
@mherrj3 ай бұрын
Refuge and forts make taking a city a huge pain. Keep a general close by to grab up units from the forts for a quick mobile force. If you dont properly use forts/lookouts then you are not using one of the most critical defensive mechanics in the game.

HAHAHA it’s my favorite addition in total war EVER, you might just not understand it well. But there is a very bad part about them. Enemies (and your armies) can sack them and the. GaIN EXTRA move distance after, being able to easily outrun the enemy in their lands, or enemies I. Your lands I expect that to be changed though. It’s an exploit for you, but detrimental for you against enemies in your land. A tiny enemy stack can sack your whole province and escape easily and you will never catch up. But agai , it also works I. Your favor too. If that’s changed this new mechanic is GENIUS!
