Khopesh swords are actually seen in Mesopotamia fairly early, I’ve even seen some references that the weapon originated in Mesopotamia

Been having fun so far but got my butt whooped first time. Pushed too far north too quick I think and Ur attacked from the South. I'll give it another go after work tonight. 8/10 update, much better than I expected.

To me something similar happened, but just the oppsite. I attacked Ur, but I had not dealt with the enemy army at the beginning so they besieged Babylon with 4 armies while I besieged the Ur capital. Luckily my heroic Akkadian farmers saved the day.

i was one of those who bashed it when it came out because i thought it will be just eygpt but they turned it into a real bronze age total war with a huge map so i'm happy

if playing legendary.. you SHOULD press the first faction at war with.. easy to steamroll them and cap the city.. sell it back to them with a non aggression and let them keep your west occupied.. meanwhile you go south to conquer UR and then solidify the east.. and then you have yourself an empire.. Babylon is your strongpoint and not easily taken with the right outposts and defense along with the western faction you use as a buffer. just my humble thoughts

It was a bad game on release as if it was rushed, but the dynasties add on actually made it one of the best historical games they have made
