Loved the bat rep, but you cannot shoot at infantry in melee even if they are fighting tanks. You can shoot at tanks though in combat absolutely (unless its a blast weapon)

I think it depends on what the stats on the weapons is. Big guns never tire key words can shoot at infantry in melee

@@mpbros207only if you are in engagement range of the infantry unit yourself. There's no way (outside of special datasheet rules) to shoot at infantry within engagement range if you aren't engaged with them yourself.

Fields of fire says "targeted" not "hit". It makes a difference because i often run 1 Mortar with Creed and it misses alot when it moves. Suppressing fire does say "hit". So watchout there. Amazing Bat rep ❤

As someone that is still trying to get into this hobby after getting my first Tyranid units 17ish years ago this is great. These videos have really rekindled the desire to, at minimum, finish a 1,000ish point army and see how deep I really want to go

Great Video, Love the personalties, love the performace. Actually really enjoyed the post game talk, watched every second of it. In regards to the game: Seems a few others are disappointed in the nyd performance, which i didnt notice as much cus i dont know nyds, but i started to get dejected pretty quick when even Mordian forgot the LRBT rerolls , ITS THEIR WHOLE THING. But they caught it thankfully, eventually. I was also proud of Mordian near the end coaching Simone thru the heavy bolter fire, that was a legendary 5 sustained volley. It is the most forgotten weapon ability ive seen so far across the internet. Also, once you start using the Battle Tank Rule and stack up 2+ Russ on something, it will die. Like they are pretty strong. You got this, keep running your Steel Legion, keep practicing with those tanks Armageddon Steel Simone.

I know the chimeras have a lot of dakka and it makes sense to roll them off camera, but I am very curious about how the firing deck heavy weapons were working out.

Steel legion are awesome! Great to see an Avenger in action. I can see it potentially being good, but without Attachés it's unreliable firepower. 10 points more than two scout sentinels, but I suppose you bring them to help Arty. 10 points less than two armoured sentinels. Which are tougher, can come back, better against vehicles. Where as the Avenger is good anti infantry and good against vehicles. Fantastic model though.

They're called movement trays. Great if you have loads of infantry, but do limit how you can place your troops. Still worth it if you are using 100+ infantry.

at 1:14:00 Tank Commander gets no Reroll. Unfortunately Commanders dont gets the abilities of regular Leman Russ Tanks

I thought hit penalties don't stack. So the bracketed, engaged manticore should still be lobbing indirect at 4+ (direct also at 4+)?

Double checking, they stack but never end up more than +1 or -1. So the manticore would be hitting on 5s for direct or indirect

Right? It's not like nids are particularly good outside of secondary scoring right now (because of cheap rippers and biovores). Didn't really need to gimp himself. I fear some people will watch this and misinterpret the Big Guns never Tire rule.

@theStamax exactly! I refuse to use spore mine and ripper cheese because it doesn't feel good to win that way, but boy does it make winning 10x more difficult... I really hope geedubs just strips away the ability for mines to score secondaries and give us some nice point drops instead 😞

@@deleted4577 yeah for sure. Short of reworking the biovore entirely, i can't see them fixing them via points (heck even at double current price, any competitive player would still run at least 1). They either need to rework them, remove mines ability to score or, ideally, remove scoring from all oc0 units (which would fix rippers and could cheapen them a bit too). I think Rippers could be fixed by increasing their minimum squad size so they aren't as cheap anymore. Nids are basically held hostage by their bs secondary scoring rn. I hope with you that they can reduce that power and instead make more of their, largely, overcosted roster cheaper. On the + side i feel a lot of their units have decent enough datasheets and point costs would go a long way of making more units viable. Perhaps pump up the points of the really undercosted ones (barbgaunts, exocrine, haruspex, etc.) a bit so they aren't required anymore as well. Oh and for the love of god... Burn and redo crusher stampede. It's such a shit detachment. You know it's bad when you can run a monster spam in at least 2 other detachments (invasion fleet and synaptic nexus) and do significantly better.

Agreed, our datasheets are largely fine - the biggest problem we have is honestly shit anti tank but again points could help at least mitigate that... there is no reason a casino fex should cost 245 points Also our hierodules costing more than the fucking Lion makes my head spin considering GW won't let even them have better than AP-2 Unpopular opinion though- haruspexes are priced fine and our faction is just suffering from battered wife syndrome. I'd only bump them 10 if at all and the same for exocrines... the more I play with them the more I realise that a 3+ save is actually very squishy, and having what's basically 4 melee only lasguns hitting on 3s isn't all that good when you have to cross the battlefield AND survive the charge to get there 😬but that in itself is a problem all melee armies are facing this edition @@theStamax

hmm i dont see the point of tank commanders. Because although they help another russ hit on 3s... If it was a normal russ, you would have 2 russes hitting on 4s but re-rolling. Tank commander doesnt re-roll. I prefer 2 re-rolling russes rather than a very bad shooting tank and a very precise tank. Right?
