I don't normally watch battle reports but enjoyed this one. I liked the choice of terrain and themed battlefield. Even though I cringed at the lack of Krieger special weapons I appreciate that the armies were not chosen with competitive-level optimization in mind.

I did enjoy the battle report, even with reduced banter. I just wish more filthy xenos heads got split by entrenching tools. I was also disappointed by the sorry performance of the Macharius; I watched the painting streams and dreamed of one day putting the colors onto mine, and now I feel as though I'm just going to paint a terrain piece, something that looks nice but has no effect on the outcome. 😢

I think the Macharius is fine, it just had no order support or extra AP from things like Exterminatiors or Starts. I think a properly supported Macharius is legit :)

Actually.. Tim's use of "Fox 2, fox 3" is incorrect. Fox is pilot chat for "air to air" missile. The 1, 2 or 3 is the type of missile fired. Little today-I-learned for you.

The Krieg list minus Sentinels really wasn't competitive. Tournaments show Sentinels are key to competitive Imperial Guard lists using indirect fire. A Leman Russ Exterminator and a couple Scout Sentinels for the Macarius would have made a big difference, IMO.

A thought (vaguely) on the next wave strat. Can fully see 'Nids getting a 2CP recycle Endless units strat in a living tide detachment, would never be free from a Tyrant since it'd be played after they were off the table and not in range of his ability so no returning 2 units in a turn. Strat for Tervigons getting to birth Termagant units would also be nice (2D6? 3D6?), buddying a Tyrant and Tervigon could potentially mean 2 new units and a returned unit in a turn. Monsters seems to be the strongest build right now, swarms could well be a lot more viable once the book drops.

It'll be more feasible when Wargames Atlantic releases their 'not-traitor guard' next spring. 9 "outriders" for $40 instead of 5 for $60. Edit: Now that I look at it since they can't apparently be made battleline (I thought Leontus gave it) 30 of them plus Leontus is only like 605 points so you can't really do a 'full' army of mounted models.

It always goes back to that old adage " You only get mad if its true." You guys are badass and make my favorite battle reports, but letting some asshole essentially change your whole persona for a vid just to spite seems wild. Tatical Tom and Tactical Tim will now be known as TaTi and TaTo. As for the final thoughts, I'm just not sold that you guys can't have fun, be full of banter, and be tactical. SUPER COMPETETTIVE is getting all the rules right, checking every single interaction, getting frustrated and arguing with ur opponent, wasting the entire day, being a dick, all like Tom said, fuck all that seriously. Mordian definitely brought that final rant back to earth: "Play how is fun for you." I genuinely believe there's a ying and yang of tactical and fun. Tactical isn't getting every. single. fucking. rule. correct. Tactical is doing what Tom did turn 3 with that Baneblade: Took out 2 big ass tanks and an infantry squad, allocating its attacks to targets they are suited for. And look what happened, Tim immediately said nope, that's gotta go and used his whole army against it. Tactical and fun aren't contradictory, they are complementary. So sad Tom had to not only put on that charade for the camera but also out of game too created a bunch of tension for yall. That's shitty af. Good luck to your future battle reports, Cheers Boys Side note: That random forge world hunk doing nothing and costing 300 was hilarious. And the idea that you need another 100+ points to support it is just a slap in the face, I agree with Tom here, would not be surprised if we see Tanker Tom with two Baneblade.

Great comment! and thank you for the honest feedback Just to be clear, our intention was not be spite anyone! We very much appreciate the feedback from all viewers and this was menat as more of a tongue in cheek response to some of the requests we get to be more serious. It often takes us 6-8 hours to film these batreps. That on its own is exhausting, but then having to concentrate extra hard made it for a very tiring day, and honestly that came out in the final rant. Full disclosure, Tom and I have chatted about this batrep a lot after will filmed it and we even considered not releasing it! But at the end of the day we are only human, and sometimes we are going to have bad days. I would rather our audience see us for who we are, warts and all :)

1:47:50 been puzzling over this a while. You say the ghost keel is shooting its cyclic ion raker and has sustained hits but doesn't get double sustained hits due to not being guided. Firstly I wanted to check that sustained hits doesn't stack. It doesn't (none such rules do). Takes the highest number so 2 1s is just a 1. Also don't remember being guided giving sustained hits. It doesn't. Ah but maybe it's an ability! Nope, it's not, nor wargear nor equipment. Ok maybe the weapon has something funky.. nop, the weapon profile has no keywords other than Hazardous for overcharge..? Am I missing something major here or did you make a few mistakes? 😅
