While it lacks the depth of Satisfactory their is a fair bit of gameplay to sink your teeth into. Still early access with 6 months of improvements. Solid game but I can see the end game already. Will easily take up 20 hours of your time so it appears to be cost effective so far.

My thoughts exactly... like, I didn't know the people were actually useful! I thought you were supposed to feed them into black holes to create singularities for science according to Josh.

You can run transport belts across from the colony islands. There are gates with more belt capacity you can research. Would love to watch a playthrough of this!

I tried the game, and so far I quite like what I see, but it's definitely very early access, to the point I don't think it's quite worth a complete playthrough currently. It's playable, but has quite a bit of 'jank' that needs to be ironed out (eg. character will happily die to suffocation even carrying a stack of O2 tanks, and there doesn't seem to be a way to use them other than building an O2 barrier; or that a quest asks to build foundations after unlocking floors, but that requires a material you'd almost certainly don't have access to, also it's not any floor, but a specific type of floor tile). Forcing isolated power grids between station and planet(oids) is definitely a weird design decision, because it makes going for planetoids almost pointless, since auto-catchers are simply better for iron/copper/coal/ice, so you end up only interested in planets with actual resources you can't get.

So uh. Your video had me buy the game for myself and a buddy... I already had it on my wishlist and was waiting to see how long it was in Early Access. We played and discovered you can put belts on the docking sections. However, you have to click on the dock and create the appropriate lane (either in or out -- in = to station; out = planet or asteroid). You can only seem to share power with the harpoon dock as well. So an asteroid seems to be a good idea if you want to offload your power production from your main station. Personally, I'm annoyed at the hoops you have to jump through to start going vertical with any kind of proper station aesthetic or just in general, scaling UP production. I wish walls and floors used the same material components. The building browser (the "k" menu) also seems a bit unintuitive in how it's organized. I found myself constantly going back and forth between menus trying to find something I needed to build. It took me a bit to realize right click told me what I needed to craft an item or what an item was. I'm slightly spoiled now by other titles adding in nested tool tips, so that may be at play... Digging seems to be quite tedious. I personally didn't do a lot of it, but my friend did and reported it was very tiring and slow. It may have been impacted by us snagging a huge ball of dirt. Related to digging though, mining drills are also tedious lol. The drills run out of things so fast you have to babysit them and move them to a new ore patch, which potentially involves flattening out an area. Oh and building floors extending off the station require a floor tile on top of the station. I noticed you could rip up the floor and get a giant piece of metal foundation and then just use those floor tiles to extend the platform... however, that doesn't seem to be the case. you have to have at least one floor tile on the edge to get the blueprint to show up at your targeting point.

You can transmit power to the planet through the dock gate. You connect power to a specific spot on the dock gate on the side marked in yellow, and it is magically transported to the similar spot on the other dock gate. You can also configure the dock gate to make conveyor belt appears on the dock bridge, allowing to automatically transfer items between the planetoid and the station. Did you know you can also speed up/down the game using the +/- key (numeric pad)? Just make sure to setup the oxygen bubble thingy that uses oxygen tank so you don't have to manually take oxygen.

Strange. At the very least, I would have expected the dock to be able to transfer power.

I'll be honest, the game needs a lot of work. While it's so nice that one building can craft multiple items at once, it also takes away a lot of the strategy to the game. I got through much of the research and every asteroid felt samish with little reason to explore. It would have been far more interesting if the asteroids had abandoned structures.

you can definitely connect the power grids of different islands to your base: you have to use the harpoon docking, instead of the docking tube, on both sides. Then you connect the power grid of the island to the power socket on the harpoon docking and you are done kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipaxXpJpj6eYiLM
