My generation is the children of the WWII vets. I was a German major in college and spent my Jr year in what was then West Germany. When the subject came up with my German cohorts, they were adamant that they had nothing to do with WWII and it wasn't their problem nor responsibility to clean up the mess. I do know that the German government stepped in and made it mandatory that the Holocaust be studied in schools, that Holocaust denial was illegal, and they still to this day keep a tight grip on any far right wing foolishness that is currently popping up in Germany (and the rest of Europe.) And they no longer sing the first two verses of Das Deutchlandleid (the Deutchland Ueber Alles verses-). I also know that tat least a portion of the WWII vets remained quite bitter about the war- The husband of the "house mother" that oversaw my dormitory was a POW in Kentucky during the war and gave voice to his bitterness at every opportunity with the American students. I firmly believe that any POW transported to the US during that war was treated a damned sight better than the Allies POWs incarcerated in the German POW camps.

Thank you both for a substantive show. I feel more prepared. I am a lover of history, and have done, and continue to, research how people moved on from deep national divides in the past. It can help us learn our lesson. In the ‘90’s, I went on a brief trip to Albania with my then husband. The country was only two years out from 40 years of communist dictatorship and they had 70% unemployment. I traveled in a Land Rover with two men: one who ratted on the other who got sent to prison; and the other who spent time in prison. They were so eager to tell their stories about the decades of lies they endured. They seemed simply eager to live, to move forward, and to build their future together. And poignantly, they adored America and Americans. “You are from the land of the free? Will you take me home with you in your suitcase?” The whole country suffered PTSD. They just wanted to put it all behind them. We have much to learn from them and from our own people who have suffered from discrimination for over 200 years. They are my inspiration and my teachers.

Shaking the grief from this election has surprised me. I din't know how invested I had gotten in hoping upon hope that Harris would win. I was so sure. But to wake up and finding I had to see and hear 45 , when I thought he would fade into history, truly was a shock. Every day we have to hear another bizarre announcement of his cabinet picks, even when I am avoiding the news. I will be at my health food store today to pick up my new Bach Flower. Thank you Karin. Okay, I read a few of the comments in there. I do understand how you guys feel about it. Yes, they did cheat, lie, misinform, trick their supporters, etc… Someone asks “ What are we learning in our lesson?” this is not going to be easy for us to do. We need to. Okay? We are living on the Earth for many reasons by God. Life is about lessons meaning to learn in so many ways to understand better. What we need to learn is to not spread more hate, stop the darkness from coming to us above our heads, stop dividing us, to stop being fearful. That is what The Republicans wanted us to do. We need to show them that we are not fear, to not continue to hate, to not pull us apart ever again, and we have the power to do that. We have to preserve to them what we can do it. Never give up at all. People, we all got to do it better than that. Just like going to school and College to learn about anything. To show how intelligent we are, to show them we all have love, caring, and respect for each other no matter what race, gender, aging, or disability, to embrace us all together in one blood, and we are all humans. If we all can do it together then the positive energy can shift in for change and the planet can change too. Not only the energy. The bright light with a star will shine hovering over your head. Which means saving our democracy, and bringing unity together. Think about it. We can do it!!!!!

When 65 million people tuned into the Mike Tyson v Jake Paul fight on Netflix, it was clarity amongst other things. Mike Tyson served time in prison for RPE and has to register under Megan's Law. I feel angry because I have worked on myself and will say I'm certainly no saint but what you're saying speaks volumes about deceptiveness, etc. The huge problem is many people are NOT involved, question, lay down boundaries etc with our government.
