Having picked this game up and run through the current content already? It doesn't help, bit like regular vs high beams when driving during a snow storm. You have to move carefully, keep your head on a swivel and you'll still get surprised. Bring plenty of extra O2 cannisters and medkits for exploring this area. Also the scrapper works when one grabs you too. Not sure if it's faster than the laser, not in a mood to test that. A few other things, Yes, I was waiting for Jingles to get to this area. 😈 Two the scanner ping is your friend. For example it would have told Jingles those asteroids were nickel before he even got to them. It will not highlight the "huggers" in the cave however. Three, unless going for the achievement skip the Skipper. It isn't worth the nickel. You can get the Summon by going into the red cave and finding the rest of the parts. Like the Seamoth the Summon provides air on it's own, and onboard storage. Four, upgrade the miner tool as a priority. At fully upgraded it rips through nickel and sliver asteroids faster and with less power than you can iron asteroids with the base tool. Mining an iron or ice asteroid with a fully upgraded tool> You'll barely touch it before it breaks up.

Saw the title, knew the vehicle manufacture cave would be in this episode. You did not disappoint! :) Many others have mentioned accessing the miner from inside the base and the transfer all buttons. But please, scan everything. Like the Oxygen Generator which is directly outside the door of your FOB! Mentioning any more locations would get into spoiler territory, but you've flown past that thing so many times, it's criminal.

@@Dennys854 IN THEORY - You could close off a tunnel open to space and plop one of those inside to generate an atmosphere. I'm guessing that's the plan for the asteroid where the red pulsing bulbs occupy everywhere. I haven't tried it yet, but they provide a fitting at the entrance that you SHOULD be able to put an airlock on.

Little Tips: To left of Nope zone (Important stuff there and you will need a lot of O2 refils) is asteriod wall, fly over and you can find nickel asteriods and O2 dome where you can farm Fiber (source for fabric). For mining base you only need airlock and (maybe) corridor (energy is shared across all your builds). Also if you carry material for Airlock you can just build airlock and fill your O2 tank. When reffiled just undo and move on.

You can grow the Celestite, there is 2 trees, a the yellow dome, you get seeds from....sometimes.....save before you harvest them. If you don't get two, reload. Then bring them back to hydroponic machine...

Don't feel bad about making a few power cells, they charge kinda slow so you will probably want at least 4 of them at some point anyway. There is a field of nickel asteroids out there, no special dangers to get to it and not too far away. spoilers below The field of nickel is outside on the back of the rock the red cave is in. If you head toward the red cave entry you just go all the way up and over on the outside slightly to the left and you should see a blue dome with lots of nickel above it.

To be fair, I still prefer seeing you play this sort of game as while I have the attention span of a toddler on a sugar rush so am as easily distracted as you it's by different things. Seeing a different version of old man brain in survival games makes me happy :)

I hope they actually add: * Real airlock * Power per station (not global as its so unrealistic) * No oxygen in a station (until you add scrubbers or something + power), to increase the difficulty a bit * Make the little islands without oxygen until you repair something (power?). Or beginner island near your crash, where the power is fluxuating and oxygen levels are low (aka, you can resupply only a little bit but do not drain your tank as much) * Actual reason to move into dangerous areas beyond picking up some minerals (I always found that Subnautica had this same issue) * And more enemies, content etc ... Because right now, its really on easy mode. Does not really feel like a survival game unless you stand still somewhere to starve yourself 🤣 Hope to see some end game content, like needing to secure a huge (actual HUGE) ship from enemy drones/aliens, repair it, and move to a new area with it (and maybe get totaled). Aka, like this area being a more beginner area where you learn the game, stock up, and then move to a totally new zone with no way back. This way they can create DLC/expansions for the game. Always found this a issue with subnautica, that there was really no new content (beyond mineral finding) beyond a specific point, and reason to keep playing.

Another tip to add to the long list - put the mining laser on the opposite side of the station from the airlock rather than just above it, so you don't keep exiting the station straight into the beam... 😄

I can wait for you to hit the left arrow in your inventory to move everything from the box with 1 click. Also, if you stop boosting midway through for 1 second, then stop just before it's empty, it refills instantly without having to wait so long.

Watching the playback, I counted Jingles getting upwards of 5-6 chunks of nickel before meeting the snurgly in the red room, so the Advanced Chipset and the backpack upgrade should be entirely possible.

3:50 I do not recommend saving your game while standing on dirt or rocks in a domed area. I did so in the dome with the bunker and when I reloaded the game I fell through the ground into an un-exitable space. Without any other ideas coming to mind (re-reloading the game still has you falling through the surface), I clicked on the "UNSTUCK" option on the main menu. This effectively kills you and leaves you back at the life pod with nothing in your inventory, but you retain anything that was actually equipped at the time of your "death". I went back to that dome, but the blue death box was below the surface and unreachable. Since then I've had that red lightning bolt icon pointing out all the resources I'll never be able to recover because they're in an unreachable location. 23:12 "I'm low on fabric and I don't want to be using fabric to make bandages." I guess Jingles has still not discovered the plant on one of the early domes that can be used to make fabric AND that the plants re-grow after a period of time just like the Gogol food... fungi? If you scan the plants they are just called "fabric". In short, you have an unlimited supply of fabric using the leaves of the plant. Additionally, I discovered that multiple stations all run off of a common power grid regardless of distance between the stations. You can setup a new habitat module somewhere else and it is already powered provided you had surplus power at your first station.

What the game desperately needs is a way to make your habs selectable, and then maybe a 3d compass to point to the selected one. It's easy as hell to get lost in this game. Or it already has it, and i haven't figured it out yet. And cabinet labels, so i don't have to remember which wall cabinet holds what.

7:72 Jingles, at the point where you remembered that this is a survival game, after dying by being hit by the Corridor Mining Laser, have you realized that you can access the Hopper of said Mining Laser from INSIDE THE BASE? Just go into the base and look under where the Corridor Mining Laser is mounted and you'll see an addition to the Corridor on the inside. You can access the Hopper from there and be completely safe from being hit by said Laser Beam... 22:22 Congratulations, you found the Snurglies. Yes, you use the Laser Tool to kill them. You can BARELY see them through the red murk. You need to locate them, get them to attack you one at a time, and back away from them firing continuously until they die. Repeat until all are dead (roughly 10 - 12 of them scattered through the two main "rooms" of that cavern. FYI, THEIR attack is point blank, only. Also, there'll be a drone inside the wrecked facility you'll find in there, which you need to visit for scanning purposes. There are AT LEAST 4 different things to scan inside there, and more parts of the Summon Vehicle inside the Cave... Jingles, as for Nickel, I'm gonna suggest you go back to the area with the two Blue-ish Domes, one behind and above the other, and look around. Make certain you've scanned EVERYTHING you can, and check around AND BEHIND the Astreroids they're located on...
