The intro to that game was around 2 hours long and while the game was in development, they faced a huge change of office, directors leaving, staff cuts etc and the whole intro to the game basically became a bait and Switch after you finish it, the game became just a repetitive mess. Even as someone who has bought quite a few Ubisoft games over the years, I am seeing how bad there customer service is with support for the game, currently having issues, even after their patch. Long story short they insisted on video capture, because apparently they can't help without that. So I am going to capture the issues and send them via video, but they basically offered a cut and paste link to PSN troubleshooting as an answer to me as the customer for their games bugs. The link took me to a bunch of waffle about routers etc. My PSN is working fine and as much as this connects to Ubisoft Connect, it's not an online multiplayer game. They are FN clowns and their customer service is rotten. I will not touch another game with their name on it now. That is their last.

If they want to be compared to RDR2, they won't be looked on favorably. Not only is the physics and attention to details miles ahead in RDR2 - like how you bump into people both on foot and with your horse - but also the amount of activities to do in the open world is insane compared to this game. RDR2 has stuff like chores at the camp, bounty hunting, fishing, horsebreaking, hunting, robbing banks, robbing homesteads, robbing individuals, robbing side businesses, robbing stagecoaches, robbing trains, rustling, playing blackjack, dominoes, five finger fillet, horse racing, poker, shooting contests, swimming, as well as various activities you do during the story, like driving a wagon, blowing up a bridge etc. I wish this game had the same attention to detail, and a similar amount of activities in the open world, but it's not even close.

This game is the shiny, jingly keys for the Star Wars die-hards (however many there are left, after the past few years). They seal-clap for all the alien worlds and Star Wars aesthetics they recognize - but strip the Star Wars paint off it, and this is one generic-ass Ubisoft game.... generic even by their standards. Imma be honest. Did not find this review to be very helpful. I already expected this game to be lame cause it’s a Ubisoft game. What I wanted to find out was what the gameplay loop was in the open world, and you didn’t really go into that at all. Possible that it’s the demos fault for not providing enough information or maybe you just didn’t care enough to share. Also, feel like this is the kind of review I would make. “The ai is bad.”, “this game is not like red dead redemption”, “this game feels unfinished”. Like, no duh, these are the most basic observations that I could’ve told you by watching someone else play. When I watch a review, I wanna hear observations that could only be made by PLAYING the game. The combat already looks bad and you say “the combat is bad. There’s nothing to the combat.” And I’m just sitting here like… why is it bad? Please elaborate! Does the character control poorly, is there not enough challenge to keep it engaging? Was there really nothing satisfying about it with the controller in your hands? You said “oh all you do is shoot enemies”, news flash! Every third person shooter is shooting enemies. That’s not a helpful observation.

No character creator, we've been waiting for another Star Wars RPG featuring character creation ever since the KOTOR days. (Nothing wrong with female characters, the Jedi Exile is canonically female and is one of my favourite characters, but you can tell now they are forcing an agenda on players). 5. Disney Star Wars. But she was an interesting, well-written character. And I had some CHOICE and customized her like I wanted to. Give us choice. It's ridiculous people have been waiting so many years for an open world Star Wars game and the only choice is this bland character. No aliens, no customization, doesn't look like you have that much of a story choice either.

I’m sure I’ll dig Outlaws. But what made RDR2 possible was the whole focus of the studio, and ample time. Ubisoft can’t do that while juggling AC and Far Cry games, & with their current development cycles for these games. Like, there should be free form speeder combat. There should be different blaster archetypes like Slug-Throwers (the Star Wars equivalent of conventional firearms) and charge rifles. Again: I’m sure I’ll dig this game, I’m honestly looking forward to it! But it’s definitely a Ubisoft+ subscription and not a full boat purchase.

Everyone tried to make me hate Starfield until I actually played it and loved every second of it. I believe this will be the same. Bashing Ubisoft games nowdays is just as popular as righting positive reviews about them, so you dont get cut out by Ubisoft. I will not jump on neither the hype nor hate train. I like Star Wars, I like most Ubisoft games, I like open world games, so there is a high chance I will like this game. If I dont it is ok. Buying games at this day is always a risk. I bought Cyberpunk day one after the success of witcher 3 and it was a good game with horrible bugs and performance. Now its one of my all time favourite games. Things are relevant and prone to change.

Imagine if this game had an amazing combat system like RDR2, mixed with Han Solo/Lando from the newer Battlefronts, gun spinning/tricks, quick draw, and an actually powerful blaster like a K-16 Bryar or DL-44.
