better off getting a second Steelcase or Herman Miller from a office liquidator or a refurbished one; WAY higher quality, last a decade or more and most can be had for under $600. Paul: "What would you like to see me cover in the future?" Me: "Yes." I'm hoping to be able to build a new system again soon, and my desk chair is on its last legs (haha). I have a nice 4K monitor, but it's a few years old now, as is the rest of my system. It was pretty high-end when I built it, but like me it's getting a little long in the tooth. My budget will be limited, so "less than $600" for a chair doesn't really fit. $1000 for a GPU isn't in the offing, either. Although most of the top-of-the-line stuff will be too much for my means, I'm looking at significant upgrades to my current setup that won't break the bank. The new generation of stuff will make last year's goodies much more likely to find their way onto my desk. And I'm always fascinated to see the latest and greatest, with an eye to where I can upgrade a little at a time. Paul is always entertaining and knowledgeable. Thanks for the report, Paul, and the focus in this one on ASUS. I've liked their stuff a lot, and more is in my future, I hope.

There is a benefit, but even pros we’re saying how the 360hz wasn’t much of an improvement in a lot of games over 240, and they’d rather have a larger monitor with better contrast and 1440p so they can see their enemies clearer. I only want improvements over 240 if I’m not compromising me ease of seeing the actual targets. If I get more fluid motion but the target I’m aiming at is a few pixels on a 24 inch monitor with poor viewing angles and contrast and brightness, I don’t think that it is worth it enough.

Thanks for this video Paul. That chair looks nice. Except you never showed us the part your butt actually touches, you know the part of the chair you actually sit on. That does happen to be the most important part. If it has sports car style side bolsters, it is a straight fail no matter how nice the back is. The worst part of gaming chairs in the last 20 years is this odd need they have to make sure when I sit on the chair it pushes on my hips in an odd way which ensures the cushion will break in and wear out rapidly while not allowing me to put my legs where I want to. The nicest, most expensive chairs in the last century all had one thing in common: the seat cushion was wide, FLAT (read: FLAT) and thick enough you don;t feel the frame through it when you sit. Additionally, the nice ones are made with top notch seat foam so they will hold more then 35lbs without crushing down in a month or less. Prefferably a 4 inch thick block of it. Surely, a prestigeous company like ASUS could make a chair that meets the above description and still has a reasonable price tag with it's massive global supply network, and wouldn;t offer a copycat of the last 20 years of failed seat cushion designs. Right? RIGHT? (we will never know until Paul get's his ass out of the chair so we can actually see it)

@@dreamingabyss right m, second gen you mean QD-OLED or a increase of brightness using heat sinks. It would be a shame to use any kind of active cooling such as a fan for these high refresh rate OLEDs this year.
