Totally agree! And I will say that I like the front facing camera. But this is too expensive for what you get. Right now, you can get a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro for $799, with 16 GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 8645hs, with a RTX 3050, and 1TB NVMe. This might be worth the price if it had a 3:2 aspect ratio, which is what you would expect on an enterprise Chromebook designed for productivity...

The standard should not be the amount of RAM, but the devices themselves. Why does a laptop with a Celeron have 16 gigabytes?

The Google standard Chromebook "Plus" with 8 gigabytes was outdated at the time of release 😆 We need to release a new "Chromebook Plus Plus"

I wish ASUS would not limit the touchscreen to a single 'premium' version of this Chromebook. It would be awesome if they'd include an optional touchscreen on the lower-spec models. For me, a touchscreen adds an additional element to the device and makes my workflows and interactions more fluid. I appreciate the touchpad might be amazing, but a touchscreen allows you to quickly click a button in the UI or access a tab much faster.

Really interested in this one. In Germany, they officially only sell an even more expensive version: Core Ultra 7 155U, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB NVMe for a whopping 1.349€. It's brutal, but it would be such a rocket ship.

I've never had a monitor that lifts up the chassis when opened...is that annoying to work with?

If they are going to make multiple iterations of a device, "All" of those iterations should be available for everyone to buy. Even if it's solely from the manufacturer's website. I'm sure there are reasons why this doesn't happen but I really feel it should. The worst case scenario in my view, is that it would increase revenue for the manufacturer. And I can't see them worrying about that.

How do I make my Chromebook useful? I've tried and I've tried. From Apps that "Close unexpectedly" to indeterminant location of files, online or on internal drive, to apps and files not opening offline... it drives me crazy. I like my Lenovo Ideapad and would like to travel with it, but it's not something I can rely on.

I think Chromebooks ought to be called Chromebook 4, 8 and 16, instead of " plus " chromebooks used to be able to operate with two gigabytes of RAM this increased to 4 gigabytes and now I think we are in the eight gigabyte area. I still feel apposed to Chromebooks which are basically PCs i.e 16 gigabytes of RAM and i5 processor etc

I ordered this system from CDW on 7/9. The catalogue entry shared by CU says that they now have 300 in stock, and if ordered in the early half of the day, will ship that day. However, my unit still shows as backordered. Not sure what to make of that. CDW says the order page shared by CU is actually populated by their distributor. So, they can't speak to the conflicting info. I'd be curious to hear if anyone else has ordered and received the I5-512/16 from CDW?

It has been two weeks since I ordered the unit from CDW. I don't it yet. CDW's site still shows just under 300 units in stock and their website promises same day shipping on it. That is not true. I called CDW to find out what the deal was. They don't have them in stock. The distributor is the one feeding their catalogue, and they have the units. CDW apologized saying CDW site was wrong. But, while my order doesn't show a ship date, they said they thought my unit would ship by 7/25. Just keeping you posted. Has anyone else gotten their hands on one yet?

I've got the Asus Model:C536EA-BI3T3, which is an I3, 15" touchscreen with 8GB and a 128GB SSD. It's too heavy as a portable machine, and so I picked up the smaller Lenovo Duet. I'm curious about these high-end machines. I mean, 16GB of RAM? Why oh why?

You might want to change the video title. Kinda misleading based on being a different model Chromebook compared to the video description. This Chromebook is pushing $1,000 USD. Pretty expensive. But it's a nice Chromebook. 16GB's of RAM needs to be a standard for Chromebook's.
