Hey there! If you'd like to pin this, I found a fix for the people who have an issue installing the dependencies. Install Dependencies Extract files Right trigger Install_all Properties (make sure it's on General) At the bottom Click "Unblock" Hit Apply Run Install_all again It should work and I hope this helps!

This has sold me on using RetroBat. I was looking at emu deck, launch box as well but I have been using emulators separately. I still probably need to for some games like Valkyrie profile 2 4K fan remaster as it requires PCSX2 QT night build etc but for general emulation this looks so good. It might allow save states and load states easier too as I tried using the M1+ another button for F1 or function keys.

Thanks. Got a snes game to work but having issues with Xbox games. It worked on xemu itself but for some reason xemu won’t work within retrobat. Gonna tinker around more soon. Love this Ally!

Yo i got my ally and after switching out the ssd for a 2tb one, which was hectic, its been great. I also added a 1tb sd card and the jsaux steam deck dock with the m.2 slot ive been giddy with all the storage i have. So much room for activities 😂😂😂

Great video! I do have a couple problems though. 1) When I choose a game, there's no sound in game. Sound works fine otherwise. 2) Can I set retrobat to automatically switch to gamepad mode in control mode? Auto mode just reads it as a keyboard. 3) On Genesis/megadrive the games seem to be going super fast for some reason. Thanks to anyone that can help, I havent been able to find info through google.

I'm using LaunchBox/BigBox because it is what I am use to I have it mounted on an SD card. Everything is running smoothly on all emulators with one exception which is with Mame. I can only seem to play this in desktop mode and not gamepad mode while in Bigbox but this is annoying as I cannot configure the ROG ally in mame by the usual method of pressing TAB in Mame as BiGBox uses the B key as escape and I want to use the B key as button 2. Any suggestions by anyone how I could work around this would be a great help. EDIT I finally sorted it in BigBox you have to check Use Other Joysticks (which I don't have to do normally on a PC) then go into a game in mame using desktop press the left shoulder button to bring up the controllmap (then change back to gamepad on your ROG ally and configure your controls) You only have to do this once and all the games in Mame now work great. Hope this helps someone

Thank you for the useful tips! However, I'm encountering a problem with mapping the controller. It seems that the retrobat is unable to recognize input from certain buttons, specifically the Start, Select, only the right back button, and the two triggers. Interestingly, the analog sticks are being recognized but only as directional (cross) buttons.

Glad you found it helpful Ralph! I haven't encountered this issue - - It could be that the snes rom is corrupted, perhaps try another - Perhaps try audio settings - Try snes ROMs with my EmuDeck tutorial to see if this fixes the issue 👍

Have you had a problem that I installed everthing to a micro sd card. When I plug in my pc it works flawessly, but when i plug it in my rog ally must of the game doesnt launch. The error message is "emulator exited unexpectedly" any ideas?

I have tried Dreamcast with both retrobat and coinops and for games like nfl2k2 it will not recognize my analog sticks. Even when I reassign it will not recognize my left stick input but on other games non Dreamcast it's fine. Do you have any idea on how to fix this? Great question Spikey! I chose RetroBat as EmuDeck for Windows is currently $3 a month on pattern and also in beta which may be less appealing for a lot of people, but EmuDeck on Steam Deck is awesome so I have full confidence when it eventually is out of Beta it will be awesome on the Ally too! 🙌

Yes I went with RetroBat for this vid as I understand quite a few would prefer the free option of emulation! I believe EmuDeck for Windows/ Emulation Station as you quite rightly stated requires a monthly fee for their beta version to help support their work in developing it (which other people are happy to pay) and again my understanding is that the fully release non-beta version will be free, in which case then I’ll do a vid tutorial on it 😎 Happy retro gaming! 🙌
