Midway through watching the video I decided to check your subscriber count and was shocked, with your camera quality, cuts, and information, I expected thousands of more subscribers. You covered points that other reviewers didn't cover as in depth. My two cents is just being a little more confident on camera and possibly some more eye content with the camera but those will come with time. I wish you luck in your content creation endeavors as I see you growing big in the future.

Hey so I agree with everything you said and I’ve owned this laptop for about 2 months now. I will say, for the price, the build quality is top tier. It does feel VERY plastic-y, BUT, it’s actually fully magnesium. For the $1550 I paid for it new at Best Buy, it’s just great. The paint finish they use is what makes the laptop feel very much like plastic. For me, the worst part of the laptop is the size of the power brick but it’s a non-issue as it fits in my backpack.

I grabbed this from best buy for $1,100 during their sale last week and I cannot express more how good this laptop is for the price. Form factor for performance is just way too good. especially like you said for 1080p gaming. especially with the beautiful screen it has. i have learned that you can lower the watt usage and use the lowest fan curve you can use. Temps wont go higher than 75 if you optimize it just right. compared to my last gaming laptop i owned. It is miles better in performance and thermals. even down to 22 watt usage you can comfortably game at 1080p locked 60fps the lowest no problem.

Plan on using it to play Apex, Overwatch 2, Destiny 2, and New World, as well as learn photo/video editing with it. I love the 14" size and can hook it up to a monitor no problem. Think this checks my boxes? Also, just nervous that there's no ethernet port too. Laptop seems to be near-perfect for me though coming from PS5 gaming and next to no knowledge on PC gaming

Run all the updates from armoury crate and myasus. I remember that helping me. But unfortunately it’s a thin laptop pushing a lot of power so it stays hot. 75 degrees isn’t anything to worry about though. The GPU can go up to 86 and the cpu 100. Maybe more though since AMD is typically known for having a higher temp limit than the competition

Yeah. In armoury crate turn off panel saver or panel battery saver or something like that. Don’t remember exactly what it’s called. But it’s enabled by default so when you unplug it automatically switches to 60hz to save battery. So it’s up to you whichever you prefer.

The funny thing about this laptop is that is way better with Linux (specially arch). With windows the laptop was always hot, not burning, not overheating... but hot. The laptop was loud, I could always hear the fans working... Long story short, I installed linux and.... bum. Everything works on the new 6 kernel (GPU, Wireless, screen, keys, macros....), noise is way down, temperatures are way down. I can pass my GPU to VMs or docker (thanks to the mux). Overall, a much better experience. If you're a developer I can highly recommend this laptop.

My only real disagreement here is on build quality. Other than a little wobble in the screen if you poke it or knock the surface its sitting on, it has a good solid hinge, the touchpad is massive and has a nice smooth feel when using it. The keyboard has a nice travel and is responsive and feels good to type on. The chassis is aluminum magnesium with most of it having a soft touch coating over it from what I can tell, giving it a real solid feel and adding to why for a 14" laptop it's a little heavier than expected when you pick it up.

Mine came in like 5 days ago and I've been loving it so far. I'm moving to this from a beaten-up Surface Pro 4 so this is an upgrade in every single way. I'm very pleased with it for the price range, and I really do love the portability. I just wanted to ask, though. I've been mostly using it in either silent or performance fan profiles depending on the task but I'm always a little worried about using turbo because of the thermals. Do you think it could be a long-term issue?
@consumertechwarehouse
@consumertechwarehouse 2 жыл бұрын
i only use turbo when I'm gaming or using any very demanding programs so I can get the best performance. Then I switch back to balanced or silent just to make it quieter. I'm honestly not worried about thermals anymore. These components can handle the heat. Only thing you have to worry about is the heat causing the battery to swell but Asus doesn't seem to be having issues with that or you would have heard about it a lot on reddit like you do with Razer. But if you're still worried about thermals you can play in the other profiles, just with lower FPS.

As everyone else is saying just be more confident, don't be afraid of cutting your commentary to make it easier to record segments (do it smoothly and seemlessly tho). Also try to get straight to the point and minimize useless commentary/extremely niche information. You have to be punctual if you want to deliver the amount of information you put into this video. Hey I don’t have a scar 17 but I have an x17 coming in with a 3070 ti. They’re both similar specs wise and shouldn’t have any real bottlenecks. So I’ll compare those with the ge76 to see if there’s much of a difference.

@@consumertechwarehousebefore the asus i had the the x17 r2 with 360hz FHD 3080ti and i7. It was good but the temps on the cpu were higher than the asus as Alienware bios was aggressive on the wattage and ended up returning it to order the 4k 3080 ti x17 r2 but due to delay in order i cancelled and went with the asus 17 3070 ti due to availability at microcenter. Although 3080 ti on x17 r2 is 175watts never seen it beyond timespy using more than 150watt in games even if upscaling to 4k. Hey man, awesome video. I have to say I agree with the others that this feels like the most honest review so far. I just hit the subcribe button to support you :-) I also wanted to ask for your opinion. I am traveling a lot and also like to take my laptop and use it on the go, like working in a Cafe etc, so I need a fairly transportable device. But I also feel like I really need 32 GB of RAM. I am currently using a Matebook D14 (AMD) from 2019 with only 8 GB of RAM so any laptop I get will be a huge upgrade. With my current laptop I am constantly at close to 100% RAM usage, so much that even my browser crashes at times. I am using a lot of background apps like Slack, Discord, etc. and sometimes 3-4 separate browsers simultaneously with dozens or hundreds of active tabs on each... 16 GB would double my current RAM but I still feel that it could not be enough and I might run into the same problem again, especially since I plan to use this laptop for 3-4 years minimum. The problem is the RAM is not really upgradeable on this one so I would need to get the highest end version which will cost me over $2,300 already. I could then add another 500$, and already get the M16 with i9-12900 & 3070 Ti which would give me more performance, a bigger screen and maybe a more premium device? But then again, it'll not run as long and as silently as the G14... Another option could be the Flow x16, which would be $3,000 which would be the absolute max I'd pay, but not sure about the glossy display and the construction in the long run, plus early reviews suggest that battery life isn't anywhere near as good as on the G14 or G15... Maybe 16GB of RAM will be enough after all and I should really settle for the entry version of the G14. That would be $1,900 in my country... Any thoughts on this? Would appreciate your help & opinion.

I’m in exactly the same boat!! Lol. I have a desktop plus think I would always have a thicker max power laptop that I’m reviewing so I want my personal laptop to be small, light and have good battery. I think the m16 does get a bit loud plus 14 inches is much more portable. It sounds like the g14 is perfect for you but you may have to spend the money to get the 32gb of ram version. I might as well as it’s not as easy editing videos with 16gb of RAM I haven’t tried the x16 yet but a friend imported one from Korea and he’ll be sharing his details on it soon so can’t wait for that.
