Amamiya Hokuto once had the dream of traveling the world as a freelance photographer. Now, working as a freelance writer, he is dealing with failure everyday because of his honest nature. One day, Hokuto goes to the hospital to visit his recently hospitalized girlfriend Takenouchi Mayu and is introduced to the doctor in charge of her treatment, Tatsumi Shinichirou. Neither of the two is pleased with the sudden reunion.
In their high-school days they trusted each other more than anybody else. On the rooftop of the school they would meet and talk about their dreams for the future. Shinichirou, who’s father is a doctor, had to follow the rules set by his parents even though he didn’t like it and without realizing became attracted to Hokuto, who had dreams and was living honest to his feelings. When both decide to enter a photo contest and Hokuto’s photo wins, there is a sudden distance between them and they slowly grow apart. When Shinichirou decides to throw away his precious camera to go and study abroad they both start to live separate lives...

He loved shin in his own way. They could never be together for numerous reasons though. 1. He may have been to scared to act on the feeling he had for shin even back in their school days because of his fear of societal push back.. 2. He and shin's friendship ended in high school over a huge misunderstanding and though he found out later it wasn't true, his guilt not having more trust him best friend ate at him.. and 3. Hokuto now has a girlfriend that he cares deeply for and she is in the hospital recovering from a major surgery. His conscience won't him hurt her even if also has feeling for shin. Thats why at the end he asks Shin not to leave and stay.. Hokuto is selfish in that way. He wants it all. And I am glad that Shin stood up and removed himself from this situation again before it went any deeper..

From kotuko expression when he looking to a sky with capturing hands , maybe the answer is Tatsumi , what he actually need and want to , just it not easy for kotuko to accept all this as a straight , and surely this time if have part 2 , kotuko will accept and together with tatsumi , since he already knows Tatsumi feeling and defend Tatsumi from that damn writers to said bad thing and thought bad things bout gay , Kotuko will together with Tatsumi after this , with that expression ❤ *such a great movie , thank you so much , keep it up for good movie like this ☺

I respect your opinion, but I don't think so. In yaoi mangas, 90% of the time it ends with the straight guy, falling in love with the dude. But this movie is different I think. Hakuto loves Shin like a friend, not like a lover. He getting mad for him doesn't "prove" that there is more to it. I mean, in real friendship it is like that. SO am I. If anyone does shit to my dear friend, I will turn to a Hyena. No matter the gender and/or my sexuality. But I also would have like a different ending where we are told what it became of them. But unfortunately it is something totally typical Japanese. Open endings. I hate them.
