I would have been lost without these seated cardio and strength videos these past 6 months. Because of my many co-morbidities and being a young 74 I have had to self quarantine for the past 23 months and you have helped me to keep sane in all of this craziness. I only go out once a month for blood work because I am on a blood thinner(Coumadin)I have mostly virtual visits with 5 different doctors. Florida has been bad with this Delta and Omicron variants and no one wants to wear a mask. As a former Head Nurse in New York for 30 years I understand the science behind these restrictions and I have to protect myself as well as others when I am around people. I am just so thankful for your wisdom and understanding of the elderly and I am sure all your residents in the nursing homes just love you. Thank you; Jewels; for all you do for so many of us Seniors. God Bless You and your family.

Jules, I'm the sort who pushes myself to work harder but your exercises and commentary nudge me even further. All single/one sided moves were executed simultaneously on both side. I've advance that much! Lateral and front arm raises are a challenge because of my shoulders--especially the right one, but I was able to do the entire routine both single and double sided with water bottles without resting in between. So, I feel so thoroughly exercised today. And I'm not only proud of myself, but thankful I came across you....Anastasia

Good day to you! Through a series of injuries, hormones & subsequent weight gain, it has been difficult for me to exercise to regain fitness and lose some weight. I wanted to do gentle exercising to work my way back to better fitness and health. Your series of chair workouts have been a game-changer for me! I had originally planned to do a standing workout today, but was up on my feet a lot beforehand, so I opted for this one, and I’m so glad I did! My left shoulder had been really hurting this morning, but after working with the weights, it felt so much better!! Wow!! I also especially liked the stretch where we did the arm over the head, and also stretched the leg out at the same time. Very effective!! Your explanations for why we were doing the strength exercises the way we were were so helpful. It’s always great to know the “whys.” Thanks, Jules, for this fabulous workout!!!

Hello...I enjoy your classes very much, especially the variety of exercises in each day. Suggestions.....what about extending each class by 5 minutes or so and then we would be up to almost an hour by the end of the week; seems like sometimes we are rushing through the cool down at the end, the stretching exercises...perhaps take a couple of more minutes for this section so that we get a good stretch at the end; perhaps a little more music with the exercises as a good beat helps with the pushing and pulling. Do you have an exercise video for back exercises on the mat? I will have to look and see if I can find one as that is an area where I need to work so that my back is stronger.Thanks again for your exercises as I find them very helpful. Wayne 71 yo male

Hi Wayne! Thanks so much for your suggestions. Sometimes I try to stick to 30 minutes and yes, it likely seems a bit rushed at at the end. I will definitely keep that in mind for future workouts. As for the back, I have core workouts on the mat but nothing specific for just the back. I appreciate your feedback. Thanks so much for taking the time to write it:)

Wow-that wasn't easy. I can't believe I used to use 5 lbs. for my light weight and 8 to 10 for the heavy. I am afraid I have been babying myself. Toady it was 3 for heavy and 1 for light but I plan on getting up to 5 for heavy and 3 for light. Also, I now do all sit to stand since I realize it will help strengthen my knees. I already feel stronger. When I was trying them before watching your instruction I wasn't placing my legs far enough apart. Thanks for your expert help.

Great to hear you are able to do more sit to stands now and pushing yourself to use the weights. The knee osteoarthritis exercises are also great ones to strengthen legs...highly recommend for anyone. I love hearing about your progress! Soon you’ll be back to lifting the 5 lbs and up...doesn’t take long once your muscles get used to it.

Hi Carole, the main thing with strength training and breathing is to breathe out as you lift the weight, and breathe as you lower the weight.
