For dark spots, I used to use Obagi and other skincare, diligently using them. After 6 months I did see some mild lightening. Then I went to my derm doc, he did one mild Fraxel laser treatment on my face and tops of my hands. The dark spots turned black like coffee grounds and literally fell off in one week. I had maybe 1 day down time, makeup covered things. They were 90% GONE. I now go to him once per year and get a touch up with a Limelight laser, keeping those pesky spots at bay. Other then Retin A, I use no skincare specifically for spots. Why, when once per year for a $300 laser treatment they are gone. Sometimes it is more efficient going in office to do things.
@annmarieknapp4 жыл бұрын
I don't know of any derms in town with layers that I would trust. I use ZO Obaji line for Melasma and it is dramatically improved. In less than 3 months one age spot is gone. Granted I need to keep using the products, but I go through them very slowly. And retina-A, Vitamin C, and Vitamins E keep much of my skin problems at bay. I peel a lot, but it's a tradeoff!

Thank you for sharing. I'm Puerto Rican and we hyperpigment easily... The yag erbium laser worked wonders for my hyperpigmentation. I'm so happy that people share their experiences because then I know what to suggest to clients even if we don't carry that in our office. This is what I love about KZbin that people can share their own personal experiences. ❤️ Thanks, friend!

@@annmarieknapp peeling a lot isn't a bad thing. In fact you are turning your cells over quickly which means they make better copies of themselves. While peeling won't lengthen your telomeres it will keep them from shortening too much. It is why chemical peels and lasers are so helpful as well.

Thank you Penny! I loved this breakdown of these modalities. I have the Myolift and was feeling a bit guilty for purchasing it last year because I wasn't using it as much as I needed or wanted to. Thanks to you, I ordered the gloves a few weeks ago and I haven't stopped using it. It's so much easier to commit to this in your device when there's no messy gel involved. I'm sure I'll use the gel and probes as well periodically but the gloves were a game changer for me. I started my skincare journey a year ago. I found your channel not too long after I began and dug deep here on KZbin University lol. I'm getting my masters of skincare (for my own use only) here on KZbin. This is from a now 55 year old woman that had been told I don't look my age way before I started but when I look at my before photos I'm thinking "Oh c'mon, YES I DID! At least I thought so after comparing my 1 year before and after photos. Even my patient husband who never complains when I'm upstairs at night for a couple of hours was impressed. It's so worth it! My skin has never looked so even and much more radiant and you, yes YOU brought me to this place. I will confess, I was one of those touch up queens who went in and removed things on my face to perfect my pictures before I posted them on Facebook or Instagram. Although I do have the new iPhone with the portrait setting that does take a nicer selfie, other than that, no touch ups. I'm no longer a cheater and now if someone runs into me out in public, they'll know it's ME! HA! Before I end this lonnnnnng post, I just have to say that your eyes are amazing! What a gorgeous color blue. I have two girls. One has hazel eyes like myself and one has my Mom's blue eyes (my husband has dark brown eyes). Which by the way, my Mom had 5 children and none of us got her beautiful blue eyes. I'm sure you get comments about your eyes all the time. So does my blue eyed daughter (24). My older daughter (who will turn 30 this year ) has the hazel eyes so I pull her aside and we roll our eyes like yeah yeah yeah and laugh. :) Keep being your beautiful self! PS... You now have me hooked on those gorgeous Jo Molone scents! They're beauuuuuutiful!!! THANK YOU!!!

Thank you so much for this wonderful breakdown - I have been confused about all the different uses of these modalities. The only lingering question I have is regarding "ultrasound" (namely the Time Master Pro) - I'm confused as to what that does in comparison to the other treatments.
@nataliaturner48454 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure it's the home version of "ultherapy" which helps with skin elasticity (it uses ultrasound to shrink skin fibers and stimulate new growth). RF devices are the home version of "thermage" which does the same thing, but uses heat instead. As far as the in-office procedures, ultherapy is usually rated as more effective than thermage bc ultrasound targets the skin layers more precisely than heat, but keep in mind that the at-home versions of RF & HIFU are both way less powerful than in-office treatments, so that might not be the best way to compare them. I haven't really found a head to head comparison of RF & HIFU home devices, but I am leaning toward RF based on good reviews & seems to cost way less than HIFU.

Thanks for a clear overview of at-home devices for skincare. Laser is not only "collimated" but also "coherent", which means that all its light waves do not only travel in parallel, but also in sync. This is what gives laser its very special properties and ability to affect the skin effectively, as well as risks! By law, at-home lasers have to be of a very low output power and they won't do much to your skin. Otherwise, a very clear explanation of the different modalities, thank you!

Dear Penny, those charts you put together are everything! I have a NuFace mini and just ordered a CurrentBody LED combo (face, and neck/dec) on Black Friday sale (got both for $512; I have limited financial resources but gave into temptation because I am no longer getting botox/fillers, and I wanted something more long lasting than a couple months' effect at best from injections for half or a third the same price) and am committed to really using them! At 65 my biggest issues are sagging chin/cheeks and wrinkles around my eyes (crow's feet) and lower chin/marionette lines. I bought a good dermaroller plus numbing cream but haven't used it yet. You've answered all my questions in those marvelous charts you've put together about combining therapies, so off I go! Bless you, you're the best of the bunch ❤️ it's never too late!

Great video as usual! Re microcurrent devices, I like ZIIP a lot better than NuFace, and the old CACI microlift unit which is no longer available is great, it works slightly differently, no gel and you kind of lift the skin during treatment. Worth investigating in my opinion.

@ArcturusAndromeda4 жыл бұрын
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I tried both, I actually sent the NuFace back as it was too strong and caused broken capillaries; I then tested - very cautiously!- ZIIP which also has a nano current option, not just microcurrent (I use mainly the sensitive program) and it was much better. Now that I am more used to it I sometimes can use the more intensive programs also. It is, in my opinion, a higher quality device and the app where all the programs are synced from is excellent, you simply follow the program on your screen as you use the device which makes it easy to use. I use ZIIP around the eyes and sometimes all over on a short program and the CACI unit, which has antenna like prongs used with wet q-tips (and has the best lifting action of all three) for the whole face and jawls. Also worth looking at if you can get your hands onto one (it was discontinued)!

This is great, Penny - thanks! Looking fwd to your website and your newsletter😃 Very exciting! About LED, I'm wondering what you think of the Panel type - like the Mito, vs, the mask modality, like Omnilux. (And you mentioned neither here...so now I'M REALLY wondering.) I've been on the fence about RLT for the benefits of building collagen & ATP to help firm up the skin (I do know it's is a fairly slow process that demands consistent application. From what I 'think' I know about it, it does seem worthwhile & the investment, but I keep waffling back/forth between the panel, or the mask🤔 Just about the time I decide on one type, I'll read or hear, that the type I've decided against, is actually the more effective one, and vice versa😒 Making me a little crazy...

Thank you for another amazing video. Very informative and well explained. I have lots of these at home devices. There effects are CUMULATIVE, so we have to be disciplined at using them on a regular basis and stick to it!

You might have done some thing on LED light therapy masks already but if not I’m hoping you will be testing several units. When I use my new skin faithfully it really makes a huge difference so I can certainly support what you were saying there. Wish I had more information on the IPL and broken capillaries. Thanks for the great content.

Hey penny I have a couple questions 1. How to use copper peptides for hair and possibly also eyelashes? Can we microneedle cp into the scalp? 2. Can myolift help with the sagging skin of the body after weightloss? If so how do we do that? Thank you for all the hard work you put into your videos, always so informative and sweet💜

Thank you for another great video, I love how you get right to the point. I have a Ziip and a MLAY RF I would like to use them both but not sure how often to use 1 or the other? The Ziip says 2-3 times a week as does the MLAY. I want to give my skin recovery time, can you give me some guidance? Thank you again for being a great teacher.

Hi Penn! I am curious how you use all these devices since I've read you recommend waiting three weeks after using one collagen inducing modality before using another one? How, then, do you for example use the NEWA, the NIRA and do micro needling? Would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks so much! :)

WOW..JUST FOUND PENNYS CLEAR,KIND,IN DEPTH ANALYSIS OF DEVICES! I am a soon-to-be seventy-five-year-old active women who really most collagen and face volume the last two years losing work and all the changes that happen around covid; I have an older galvanic from new skin which is still functional but I'm not sure if that is a muscle stimulating modality and if that has effects similar to microcurrent/ since I've heard that heat can actually tend to reduce fat loss I would be afraid to order anything that was heat-producing SONY QUESTION TO U IS:IS THERE ANY OTHER MICROCURRENT HOME DEVICE THAT U COULD RECOMMEND THATS AS EFFECTIVE AS "MYOLIFT" which I'm thinking maybe a little too complicated for home use for someone who's not real used to home device treatment.. (also I would love to know what doctor you work with his I would love to visit her but.. that maybe something you cannot share here!) I hope you can see my comments and I am grateful that I had found this child blessings to you today

I bought the Faustina, worked great for hair removal, for removing pigment spots, it did fairly well for hands but not so much for the sunspots on as and legs after about a month which was pretty disappointing.

I LOVE Your Channel! I wish I'd found you sooner because I would have purchased the Myolift instead of the clareblend. I am NOT able to get any lift and its dejecting. I have both the NuFace and Clareblend - any tips for a better lift?
