I saw at the gates on the 2008 tour and I swear to god it was the most studio like sounding live show I’d ever witnessed in the hundreds of gigs I’ve attended It sounded like backing track but I’m certain it was live

When I started listening to this band in 2001 I thought it was a tragedy that I would never see these guys as a band But now I've seen them live twice! And yesterday I bought this dvd and got it signed by Tompa, Anders, Jonas and Martin. Best. Reunion. Ever!!! And to those who haven't bought the dvd yet, BUY IT! If you listen closely you will hear that it is a live mix and if you look closely at the pretentious comments that follow this thread is that bashing someone's admiration for quality is meaningless. It was a great show, just be glad that they even got back together to do this.

When i saw ATG the first time in Gothenburg i was blown away. Sorry, they where called Groutesque then, and we became friends. My only words for that period of time, late 80´s to late 90´s in Gothenburg. Energy, energy, anger, anger, anger, desperation and then more energy and more and more.

Saw ATG in 98 or 2000 when they opened for Napalm Death. The venue was not very big ( Berkley Square in Oakland CA ) but I was one of the fortunate ones to get a ticket. There were probably more people outside who couldn't get in than us that saw the show. Hate to admit it as Napalm is one of my all time favorite but I think Gates put on a better performance that night.

they are still playing together they said they wanted to do a final tour together as a farewell to fans but after seing the response they got and realizing the fun they have while playing those songs together they shelved the idea. They won't make a new album together though.
