The bird song you’re hearing is Wood Thrush (not Wood Wren). 😊 People have trouble imitating birdsong because we have a single larynx (“voice box”). Birds have a syrinx which has two separate structures that produce sounds - so they can sing multiple notes at once and get many different effects than we can.

In 1973 the William Brian Memorial shelter was located on the shores of Island Pond. It was one of the best shelters in the park. It was moved and the trail rerouted around the pond due to overuse.

When the blueberries ripen, the bears gorge themselves…I love to pick them in Pa by the lake…right now mulberries are plentiful around here- in the park there too, Im sure. Enjoy the area! It’s gorgeous and full of wildlife! 🥾🥾😎

Great video,as always! I wish your foot would heal up and give you a break.Maybe there is a podiatrist in Kent that could check it out? But as long as it isn’t getting worse, maybe it won’t? Other than permethrin, what defensive measures do you take when walking through grass? Good luck to you both. SEMPER FI
