The guy I buy parts from always says to me after getting his advice on used karts “Do the brakes work?” A video on brake repair/rebuild would be awesome!

Good stuff, Bobby. Thank you!

I have another small washer for the clutch. You don’t seem to have one or put it on? Not essential?

What are the main things to look at when buying a used Kart? lo206 setup specific!
@BobbyKrug Жыл бұрын
I would say it depends on the track you’re competing at. I run Margay because it’s the chassis best supported at my track as far as knowledge about setup amongst my competitors and parts availability. I have a kart for sale: if you’re interested, bobbykrug.com/shop

Do you or anyone you race with rin ethanol free ? To prevent any gunk or stuff building up . I was planning on treating my new 206 like all my stihl equipment . Nothing but E- feee

The fuel at the Kartplex is ethanol free.

Give that carb a ultrasonic cleaner. You'll love it.

how do you get the fuel out of the lines at the end of a trac day
@BobbyKrug Жыл бұрын
For the fuel line going from the fuel tank to the fuel pump, I remove it from the fuel pump side and blow it back to the fuel tank. From the fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb, I drain it back into my fuel tank or fuel jug.

All I have is a small battery powered air compressor I use to air up my kart and car tires. Would that work for this job?
@BobbyKrug Жыл бұрын
I’ve never tried with one of those. I typically use a “pancake compressor” that plugs into the wall. I’d be afraid of your battery operated one not being able to produce enough pressure to efficiently blow through the carb.

You don't use Carb cleaner?

I could be wrong but Im pretty sure you dont want any play whatsoever on the clutch when you tighhten it. That leads to your crank shaft keyway getting damaged.
@BobbyKrug10 ай бұрын
I've been running it like that for 7 years with no issues and known people who've ran it like that for longer. You need play in the clutch for the same reason the chain has a little slack, the chassis is flexing in the corners and over tightening it is going to put more strain on the crank and the clutch and will increase the chance of popping a chain.

I see you’re running the clutch shoes outboard trailing. Someone told me they should be leading. Does it matter?
@BobbyKrug Жыл бұрын
Great question! I’ve only ever ran the shoes in trailing direction. I’ve heard the claim that leading is going to give you more bite (less slip) but wear out the shoe much faster. Each track is going to require something different to accommodate the different speeds and when you want the clutch to come in so it’s worth testing a variety of configurations and see what works best at your local track.
