Great video as always. I checked the Atari Lynx Carts with the Taito Super Pocket and it doesn't have the issue with the inbuilt games not playing when the cart is inserted. For me the Taito with all 5 Atari Carts is the perfect combination but the standard Atari Super Pocket looks great and is perfect for anyone new to the Evercade ecosystem. Keep up the awesome work!

This version is still available at a few retailers too. I think it’s one of the best implementations of a portable Atari console, except the Atari 50 on Nintendo switch. And at £50 it’s quite a deal for Atari fans or people curious about the Atari consoles.

This is a great looking Super Pocket and let me put my Limited Edition on display 😊 I love the Lynx collections and have both carts. The on system has some good Lynx games like Warbirds, Turbo Sub, Robo Squash & Checkered Flag 😊

I get that the wood grain is more nostalgic, but I like the red and black more. Still not gonna replace my taito with it though.

I have the R&B one as the second nicest looking standard unit after the Taito, which I also bought, though I must admit I think the woodgrain is nicer still. That said I like the toy aesthetic the bubblegum green delivers, it's still the one I would prefer to be seen playing in public the most even if I had every version. It screams Taito without being as loud as the Capcom.

Handsome little unit. BTW Burger, the VCS 2600 was black with woodgrain (I still have mine in the loft), I think the colour language is black for the console and red for the fire button on the classic Atari controller. Or it's just coded as the controller alone, either way I have both Atari's in my top 3 best looking Super Pockets so far. A question: What about a Jeff Minter Llamasoft SP? The colour scheme would have to be wacky with one of those.
@CrazyBurger22 күн бұрын
@@darthwiizius lol so it was. I'm forgetting. I think it's more possible we could see a Jeff Minter cart.. but jeez that's not going to appeal to everyone.

It’s amazing that there still appears to be limited availability of the super pockets. It really would be interesting to know if demand was massive, or if supply was limited. Or just a combination of the two. And will these issues plague the EXP-R? I hope it has a better availability at release. I’m waiting on in depth reviews on it before I buy but I’m so tempted to dive in. The larger screen and landscape controls will be a bit more comfortable for longer play and it would be more of a general day to day device for me. It’s just a pity there doesn’t seem to be any more information from Blaze about what exactly the issue was that delayed launch so much.
@CrazyBurger22 күн бұрын
@@Stephen-2097 It would be nice to get more info.. but its not something Blaze have provided. Apart from the odd titbit like they've surpassed 1 million cart sales. They did say that the Super Pockets were good sellers last year and in turn sold a ton more carts which then led to stock shortages. I suspect we might experience more of this through the coming months. As for the EXPR.. its all too quiet for me. Hopefully we will hear more in the coming week.

@ What worried me about pre ordering is that it’s sold out for pre ordering on Funstock and Argos (I couldn’t actually see a listing for it last time I checked today), but Amazon are still taking pre orders. I just don’t want to have another disappointment so soon after the Super Pocket pre ordering situation 😆
@Stephen-209721 күн бұрын
@ I suspect we will never know what component was discovered to be bad in those 20 percent of units they mentioned. Was it something on the circuit board, the screen, the battery even. And from their blog it was disclosed they found it quite late, on production run 😬 I just hope they really have resolved and fixed it and none of the affected units go to customers. Maybe that’s why it’s delayed sooo long. It sounds like it was a significant issue. I really hope it wasn’t a safety issue.
