If you expand your box cursor within the waveform it will expand the waveforn. I contacted Konnwei customer services for help at first but they don't seem to have any idea about their products - at least not the KW600. It is a shame about the customer support because I do like it but as you say the software is a problem. I had to waste quite a bit of time getting to the point where it would update and while I have managed to expand the waveform in the software I simply can't get a print out of anything - neither a print out of the basic data or the graph. Very frustrating . At least I am not the only one struggling with the software !

We bought one but ended up returning it, the problem with a lot of the cheaper stuff is the numbers in the test themselves are off so we bought an American midtronics and never looked back.

Which numbers in the test were off? The CCA or the resistance? Or do you mean the cranking time or min max voltage readings in the starting test?

@@wingerrrrrrrrr Mostly the CCA value and the health of the battery, it reported that the battery was no good when in fact it was perfect. 🤔

I notice the Topdon Testers you dont have to do this headlight stuff. I think im gonna Return my Konnweu KW208 TESTER and get something you dont have to do this lights on and off stuff with. Ancel & Topdon dont seem to do this on some of their models.

April 2020now, that konnwei battery tester still functioning ???? I want a durable battery tester, my Ancel ba101 died, only 3 months old of usage

Hi great video thank you for doing the leg work, Is this able to test STOP & START BATTERIES ? Also when charging is this testing the alternator?

hi. im nor sure what you mean start & stop batteries, It will check your charging system. Basically it read the voltage that your alternator puts out

Great video Andy. In a boat, I have 3 batteries in parallel connection 12V, 180Ah (C20), CCA 1000A each. I wonder if 1) the tool can measure the total of 12V 540A and 2) Could the measure be done by a cigarette lighter plug in? Thank you.

Since this is the battery of a Japanese car, I think it is better to select and measure the battery model in JIS mode instead of CCA in the battery test mode. Please select 75D23 in JIS mode to measure the battery of this car. Even if it is new, the 75D23 battery does not have the capacity of 620CCA.

the alternator puts out 14-15VDC, that's a good reading for an alternator

I suspect you uploaded too many items at once hence why it did not work for the waveform printout. 1 Option to print at a time maybe?

I haven't had the need for that, I was playing with ways to restored batteries as ive seen on youtube, so mainly was interested in SOC and SOH to see if any procedure makes a difference.

Hi Eduardo, sorry i missed your question. this device operating temperature is 0c to 50c (according to the manual). Thru CCA is measured at -18c, but CA is measured at 0c.

The in-car test is a bit confusing to me... It says replace the battery, because it's health is only 11%... Then in cranking test it says normal cranking, and indeed, the car started without hesitation. Son what now? If the battery is almost dead with only 11% health, why it cranks the car soo good? With that low health, it should not crank at all, or at least it should have difficulties with cranking. From that it seems, that that little tester isn't too accurate... Or did i miss something?

Different cars have different cranking current requirements, with small 4 cylinder engines needing probably in the range of 250A to turn over, while larger 6 and 8 cylinder engines needing twice that or more. The percentage state of health is just a loose estimate to just serve as a guideline for the replace message recommendations, not a hard and fast rule.

@@wingerrrrrrrrr And? You did not nswer to my question. The tester was used on the same engine-battery combination, and at first it said replace battery, then the car started just fine. So? If i follow what the device says, i go an buy a new battery, meanwhile the old one still good. And if the tester's measurement deviates so much, for me that's not accurat at all. That "loose estimate" is not even close to the reality in this video, and does not make any sense...

@@a.f.1587 It means you shouldn't blindly follow the recommended action it spits out at you; all it's doing is calculating the percentage of an estimated current output capability vs. what is claimed on the sticker to be maximum cranking amps at 0 degrees F. If your car is a small 4 cylinder engine it may need under 250A to turn over, while a high compression 8 cylinder may need more than double that. The same degraded battery may have no problem starting your little car just fine but unable to start the larger one. There's no fixed threshold where a battery is suddenly considered faulty once it crosses it, but they have to dumb down things to make it that way, and tell you it's either good or bad. The tester just gives an idea of the output current capability, extrapolated from measurements when applying a small load current, using an assumption it's linear and following ohm's law. It's useful if used correctly. Make your measurements directly on the battery posts if you can, and see if you get repeatable and consistent measurements. If you don't get pretty much the same measurements each time and the tester is connected properly, it may be defective.

You could choose GB standard for AH BATTERY. IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY TEST WITH cca standard..normlly. I use lancol battery tester www.amazon.com/Lancol-Automotive-40-2000CCA-Alternator-Motorcycle/dp/B099JZ6WKF

The AH is a capacity rating for long term discharge over hours, while CCA is a very short term peak output current rating, and can't be simply converted from one to the other, because the multiplication will vary depending on the design and type of battery. Usually only starter batteries will have a CCA rating, while batteries intended for long term discharge applications will have just the AH ratings. You can do a simplistic conversion like multiplying the AH by 9 just to get a number to enter into the tester, but it only changes the percentage state of health percentages displayed and the recommended action message. It doesn't affect the actual testing, or the CCA and resistance measurement values, so it doesn't really matter as long as you don't just blindly look at the percentages and replace action recommendations. Best thing to do is you can is test the battery when it's new and record the CCA results as a baseline, and use that for the CCA entry when testing, as that will represent 100% for future testing. Even so, CCA is supposed to be an output rating at low temperatures, and testing at normal temperature conditions will be a higher output current, so that makes this test just an estimate of the rating.

The battery is ok if you drive everyday in warm weather. If I leave it for few days its weak (doesn't hold the charge). As soon as it got colder it could not start the car, had to buy a new one.

The graph in the booklet showed more than the flat lines that was recorded for waveform 1 and 2 in the video; it seems the recording is supposed to be started, and then the car started, and then the recording stopped, so it can capture some more useful information.

22:35 it seems like you need to hit the enter button to save the waveform at this point; was that done there or was the exit button pressed? Maybe that's why the waveform didn't seem to be saved and only showed an unexpectedly flat line on the review result, from a save that was done at some other time.
