True. Him being able to admit that means that he wasn't in denial. He's just hurt and it's just easy for him to believe what is happening in front of him. While I love the rational reasons more than the emotional reasons to believe in something, there are people out there that wants to believe something with emotional reasons. He himself said that he's just not the audience for the rational side of islam. At least not yet. Because he haven't been touched by the emotional side yet.

That's expected I guess. Many people would be thinking a god would be benevolent and compassionate toward its creation. I too agree on this notion. To keep things short. I don't think allah is cruel toward its creation but allah can choose to be because he's the almighty one. But we need to also know allah sent us to this world for a test of faith. Allah didn't cause people to do immoral things at the beginning of mankind. But instead sent us prophets with guidance. If that isn't benevolence, then i don't know what benevolence is. Subhanallah. If allah helped everyone to learn everything about him, then it voids the reason why we were sent here for the test in the first place. Wallahualam. Assalamualaikum.

@@BR-it2qe it is an emotional approach. Why is dying bad? If a person's paradigm is based on evolution, then there is no good or bad. If there is no God, why should good or evil exists? How to decide what is good or bad? Arent wars and famines part of the natural order of things...which is that the weak get killed off and the strongest humans in the gene pool survive? So saying suffering is bad is simply saying "mother nature" is bad . Maybe this is how mother nature gets rids of excess humans and mother nature or the natural system isnt about feelings but simply the survival if the fittest.

If I say children die, that is not an emotional approach. Disease exists, again not an emotional approach. Dying is bad because of the emotional impact it has on the loved ones of the dead person. Also, there is now a body that needs to be disposed of because it can spread disease, attack predators and be unpleasant to be around. The manner of death could matter, perhaps the individual suffered. This can get much more in depth. I don't believe in God, simply because there's not good evidence to believe in one. Furthermore people out there act like they have all the answer simply because they have faith. That's very bad in my opinion as well as arrogant.

When the man mentioned his wife and mother died, it would have been an opportunity to comfort him...with the possibility of being reunited with them in the next life. It seemed like he was needing some emotional support, rather than "that's an emotional argument." I think that's why he shut the conversation down after that. I'm an atheist and I agree with you. Emotional reasons like that are just as flawed as believing in God because you desire justice or the afterlife. Having said that, the problem of Evil does raise sufficient problems for theism - if that theism relies on a concept of God that is all knowing, all powerful and omnibenevolent.

If we did not know of the opposite, we would not know what is what. This is the very reason that we humans believe that this world is a test. When something bad happens to a Muslim we have to know that this is a test from Allah, a reminder, something which is supposed to draw us closer to the truth because we cannot control everything because we do not know everything, and we are not perfect, but Allah is, and that is why we believe in the one true God, Allah.

We are told in the Qur'an, which has numerous evidences for its validity and truth, that this life and world was not created without a purpose, but rather that God created humans to test them and see who amongst them is "best in deed." In fact, we are promised that we WILL be tested. In addition, we were told that we have free will in this world, to make our choices, to act good or evil, to believe or disbelieve. Free will necessitates that there will be evil. Rape, wars, abuse, murder, adultery occur because they are choices that humans made...and every single person will be held accountable for their choices in this world. Anyways mate, you don't have to "believe," or agree. I'm just trying to explain to you that whatever beliefs Muslims have, they have a basis - and they start with the Qur'an, a book that has no contradictions (even with all the attacks people desperately try to make against it). It's an amazing, powerful and compelling religion. But the Qur'an also explains the reasons why people won't believe. The interesting thing about the Qur'an too, is God is not in the least bit apologetic. It's pure and simple, this is the truth, you like it, great, if you don't, He has no need of you. He has sent you the message, He has warned us of what's to come and He has placed in our innate nature the need for and ability to seek out God...but some will ignore it out of arrogance (primarily), heedlesssness, stubbornness and insincerity. I really felt the pain the brothers felt when that man left. The brother on the left even was like: “no no no listen” at 06:58 because he truly want people to believe and save themselves for their own sake. They gain nothing by doing this, except for the reward from Allah SWT. Truth is, Allah swt told us about this in the Holy Quran. Some people will not believe even if you overwhelm them with signs. How bad will it be when you will judged on the day, and you will want to sacrifice everything you have including your children and spouse to save yourself and Allah swt will say; I have asked much less from you to do. May Allah swt protect us and guide us and may the brothers and sisters from OTM foundation be rewarded for the work they do only for the sake of Allah swt. Ameen. This is the cosmological argument. First, we don't know that the universe began at the big bang. I don’t think you guys understand the kalam cosmological argument fully. If there are an infinite amount of events forward in time, would we ever reach a “final” event? Similarly, if there are an infinite amount of events/causes backwards in time, would we ever reach our current time of existence? This is the problem with infinite regression, whether its infinite time backwards, or infinite Creators/causes for existence. We know there could be an event/events preceding the Big Bang but either way, a never ending amount of causes would not be rational since it would be impossible to have reached our Universe’s current time/existence. There has to be an Uncaused Cause. Please share your thoughts on this my friends.
