@ Lack of belief in one thing requires belief in something else to replace it. For example, if I say “bakeries don’t exist”, then people will ask me the question “where does bread come from”. Since I don’t believe in bakeries, I need to provide an alternative explanation for why there is bread in my house. As for abiogenesis, our evidence for it is actually very low.

@@revoreport I agree, it is. Eternal torture for finite crimes is a deeply immoral concept (however heinous those crimes may have been).
@revoreport
@revoreport 13 күн бұрын
It's not merely about 'torture' but separation from God, a choice one makes through life's rejection of love and goodness. The idea of justice isn't about the duration of the crime but its nature; some actions have profound, lasting consequences. Consider this: if someone commits a crime against an infinite being, doesn't the offense carry infinite weight? 🤔 Jesus teaches about forgiveness and redemption, offering a way out of this separation. Wouldn't you want to explore a God who offers both justice and mercy? May you find peace in Jesus, who provides a path away from eternal separation. 🙏✨ In Jesus' name, Amen.

@@revoreport Honestly, if I were you, I would not try to defend this morally bankrupt system. That system you are defending makes it such that unbaptized children go to hell, murderers who "find jesus" do not, because they are "redeemed", although their victim may burn in hell because they have not had a chance to find Jesus yet. That's exactly the reason why Ray Comfort makes up this whole nonsense about "everyone already knows god exists" to get around the fact that many people have not even heard of Jesus or your particular god. If they get killed by a believer, who is afterwards really really sorry about what they did, you get exactly the scenario I described: murderer goes to heaven, victim goes to hell for a "crime" they did not even know they could commit. Brilliant system that.

Tl;dr Some people laughed because they didn’t realize that there are many levels of nothingness. Dawkins simply asked, "Why are you laughing?" as a rhetorical question as he tried to make them aware of that.
@revoreport
@revoreport 13 күн бұрын
The laughter might have come from misunderstanding or from the surprise of such an abstract concept. 🤔 Isn't it fascinating how Dawkins challenges us to think beyond the surface? May you find wisdom in exploring these profound questions, perhaps even finding answers in the teachings of Jesus, who also spoke in ways that made people think deeply. 🙏

@revoreport
@revoreport 14 күн бұрын
Respect for Dawkins is valid, but logic and science don't just challenge religion; they can support it too. Consider the fine-tuning of the universe, where the laws of physics are precisely set for life to exist-doesn't this suggest a Designer? 🤓🔬 Evidence in science like the Big Bang theory aligns with the Christian belief in a beginning from nothing. 🌟 Both science and faith seek truth, but only faith offers a personal relationship with the Truth. 🕊️ How can you ignore the evidence of a world designed with love when you're surrounded by it? 💕

But how free will exist when God knows everything?
@revoreport
@revoreport 14 күн бұрын
Free will exists even with an omniscient God because God's knowledge doesn't compel our actions but coexists with our choices. Think of it like this: knowing the outcome of a movie doesn't mean you're controlling the characters' decisions. God, outside of time, sees our choices as a complete tapestry, yet each thread is laid by our own free will. Just as a parent might know their child will spill milk but doesn't force it, God knows our choices but doesn't dictate them. If you've ever chosen to forgive someone despite knowing the outcome, that's your free will in action. 🤔🙏❓ Why not consider that Jesus, who knew all outcomes, chose to offer us freedom through His sacrifice? Could this be your moment to choose Him? ✝️💖

Looking at the wonders of the world, nature, as the glory of God? Does an animal eating another animal alive also shows the glory of God?
@revoreport
@revoreport 15 күн бұрын
lol - the complexity and beauty of nature indeed reflect the glory of God through the lens of design and purpose, as articulated in the Psalms, where creation sings of His handiwork. However, the natural processes, including predation, are part of a fallen world, not a direct reflection of God's original intent or glory but rather the consequences of sin and the natural order post-Fall. This does not negate God's glory but rather highlights the need for redemption and restoration through Christ, which brings hope and meaning even to the suffering in nature. The predatory behavior in animals can be seen as part of the system designed for survival and balance, which, while harsh, maintains ecological harmony, showcasing a different aspect of divine wisdom. If we concede that a world with suffering exists, how does this challenge the existence of a benevolent God, and what does it say about the Christian narrative of redemption and the ultimate restoration of all things?

what's bad about sharing Jesus?
@Laxyr
@Laxyr 14 күн бұрын
@@revoreport Why would you need to share Jesus if, as some claim, Jesus is in everyone's heart already? Is it possibly because Jesus has promised to torture everyone - forever - who does not worship him? So we must fear Jesus, yet also love him. And the best thing is, you are supposed to take this on faith, even though there is no proof that Jesus was who everyone claims he was. What this myth does is give old white man authority over gullible people to tell them how they should lead the only existence that we know about. So, what's wrong with sharing Jesus? Not much, besides the motivation and the intention behind it.
