It's funny to me how you use the stories in the Bible as evidence for the truth of the stories in the Bible. Yes there is evidence outside of the Bible, but using the Bible itself to justify itself is funny to me. Spiderman came from New York City according to the story. The city does exist in real life so Spiderman did actually come from NYC!
@revoreport13 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate your sense of humor on this! 😂 You raise a good point about circular reasoning, but let's unpack this a bit further. The Bible isn't just a single book; it's a collection of writings from different authors across centuries, yet they converge on a consistent narrative about Jesus Christ. This isn't like Spiderman where one author creates a fictional character with a known city backdrop. Instead, consider this: if multiple independent witnesses describe the same event, doesn't that lend credibility rather than relying on one source? Historians often use this method to verify events. For example, the existence of Jesus and key events like his crucifixion are also documented outside the Bible by historians like Josephus and Tacitus. So, it's not just the Bible saying "trust me," but multiple streams of evidence converging. 🌟 Now, think about this: if we were to apply the same skepticism to science, would we dismiss all scientific theories because they build upon previous scientific findings? Science often uses its own frameworks to validate itself, much like the Bible. Both the scientific method and biblical accounts invite us to explore further, not to take everything at face value. Here's a question for you: If Jesus rose from the dead as many historical accounts suggest, wouldn't that be the most significant event in human history, worthy of at least considering its implications for your life? 🌱 I pray that as you reflect on these points, your heart might be open to the possibility that Jesus is who He claims to be - the Light of the World. May you find peace and truth in this exploration, and may the love of Jesus guide you to a place of faith and understanding. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏

I gave up my strong Christian beliefs after reading the Bible. Many of my friends and family are Christians and are wonderful people but the ones that aren’t religious all lost their religion after reading the Bible like I did. Almost all of my Christian friends study the ten percent of the Bible everyone knows but the other ninety percent they don’t know and don’t want to know. Truth never fears scrutiny. I suggest people to read the Bible from genesis on and decide for themselves.

The catholic priest has done a disservice to his explanation of hell. Sad, people don’t believe in hell at all and some believe no one goes to hell but instead they go to a place where they can be redeemed. What a terrible lie. Redemption is while we are alive and able if you believe there is no hell or you can wait until the afterlife for a chance of redemption. I got bad news if the position you hold; there is no hell or afterlife redemption then one day you will lift your eyes in hell and there will be no hope. May God have mercy!

Interesting. Professor Dawkins speaks about suffering and how there is such a massive amount of it. And yet science has been unable to prove the existence of suffering. Or love. Or mercy. There are no equations to calculate them. No machines to measure them. They are invisible. So how come the hypocritical professor uses an unprovable term to back up his argument? A bit two-faced, yes? I have a problem with listening to hypocritical arguments. Especially when they are unable to see how hypocritical and dishonest they are.
