I'm a Brit, and so you might think that Athings non-selection would please me as it increases Keely's chances of winnjng that illusive gold medal...but I 'm not pleased. I am not pleased at all. With Athing missing in Paris the 800m final will be diminished. Athing's record is terrific. She has gold medals all over the place and only two athletes have run faster than her this century and one them was Caster Semenya. Athing is an American treasure...no, change that, she's a global treasure.

What type of injuries she has sustained. She was clearly going after a record that should be removed from the records since it was done under East Germany state sponsored program. I’m happy it happened to Athing Mu, too. Just like I was happy it happened with Sha’Carri Richardson. Why? Because I’m rooting for them. I wanted Sha’Carri to get the hell off social media, quit worrying about responding to each and every person, get focused, and come out with that top end speed of hers and whoop @ss. Jamaica IS automatically the top 3 that makes it. Its even more strict than the US. Only exception is for a Top 3 world ranked athlete to get a medical exemption and later prove they are better than the 3rd placer. Years ago, it was just top 2 and 3rd discretionary like in the UK.

Not only do you mention the article but I recall Athing saying that since she had accomplished her goals she was considering not running and had other goals/dreams like modeling . She absolutely is blessed and it seemed once she won a medal she may have been unmotiveted/content. She has the kind of talent she can cement herself as goat 🐐 in this distance . I'm not going to lie brother. You're absolutely right. At first I was kind of taken back by the title I was kind of took him back by the first monologue that you said. But now I'm listening to it and in its entirety I fully agree with you. A lot of these track athletes are track athletes cuz they could not make it anywhere else. I was a track athlete. So I do understand but they could not do 3 months straight of activity. Maybe no allows. He's there from day one to the championships but other than that a lot of these people couldn't be athletic 3 months straight.

Not focusing on track and filed for 2 consecutive years (2023 - WAC Budapest, 2024 - Olympic Games) should have consequences and unfortunately we see them. Most other athletes would clear their schedule out of anything that interferes with their athletic progress and it usually requires personal sacrifices, strong metal and physical abilities, proper support team and peaking at the right time (at the trials and at the Olympics). All of it is not easy, but necessary..
