I discovered Moringa more than 7 years ago after a severe stroke related to type 2 diabetes. After a year of drugs (12 in all) I got fed up I was looking for a better way to heal my body and started digging for info. Found Moringa and started to take large quantities (up to 90 capsules per day). Fired 3 doctors, changed my diet to mainly eggs and some fish, veggies, & some fruits. I do exercise by walking for at least 1 mile as fast as I can. 6 years later, doing fine at almost 68 yrs of age and stopped using all drugs and will NEVER use drugs again. Rarely get sick, had Covid for 2 days, and that's the only time I had anything. I don't get colds anymore, which for me is amazing. Of course, I have added many other supplements, but Moringa is by far #1 in my book for a healthy body.

I tried to grow the Moringa tree with no success as I live in the NE of USA. Now I just order the Moringa powder and drink it every day. I also mix that with Dandilion powder that Dr. Berg says has enormous benefits. I never get sick and my skin is radient even though I am over 70 years young. My energy level is way above normal for my age and I look and see people in their 50's that look and act like they are in their 80's. It is so easy to remain healthy and happy while we are on our journey here on the earth. I will keep this around as long as possible.

I recently started taking moringa. I'm an 82 YOF. Guess what - my FASTING glucose before was 146, my NON fasting glucose after one week on it was 97. I was on no medications for my blood sugar before I started moringa but every time my BG was drawn it was over 140 for the last few years. My BP before moringa was 140/90 on 2 BP pills, and after starting moringa it went to 90/61. I stopped one BP pill and it is now 113/69. may need to discontinue the med entirely if BP keeps falling. It hasn't made my arthritis disappear (after 2 weeks on it) but I do have more energy and less pain and have started doing more work around the house. I would see all that needed to be done, get overwhelmed just thinking about it. Now I'm actually just getting up and doing what needs to be done. NSAID's have never done that for me. It may not work for everyone, but if it does work, it works very well. And - there are absolutely no side effects in my case. I take two 1000 mg capsules of a 10:1 concentration each day, one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. UPDATE: I am completely off BP meds a week later with a BP of around 120/70 or 115/65. Seem to be sleeping better and having more dreams. My GERD is improving. I can't wait until my next blood work to check on cholesterol levels. This moringa is the first stuff that has ever done a thing for me.

For those in colder climates that want to grow Moringa, consider a tall, narrow wheeled trash container. Fill only the center column with soil, save empty pop or water bottles to provide bulk around the outside and reduce overall weight, as Moringa has a tap root. That way you can extend your growing season by bringing it inside for cooler spells, and move it around outside to get optimum sunlight for whatever stage of growth it is in. I’ve considered building modular panels for a front and two triangular sides of a lean-to greenhouse against the south facing brick wall of my house to try to extend season long enough to get mature seeds. Otherwise, you would need to bring in cuttings and set them out in spring or plant new seeds yearly. Seed viability is pretty short, so you’d need a yearly source for seed. Some folks can shield against a brief mild cold snap by chopping trunk at 3ft, wrapping with a cylinder from a section of wire fencing, stuffing with straw and covering securely with black drum liner bag or tarp. Hope this encourages some to try again! Cheers!

I have been eating moringa as "cuisson à l'étouffé" and soup that we say "bouillon" since I was very little. In Mauritius, it is the most typical way of cooking it and we eat it with rice, more veggies and an animal protein. It is one of the staple of Mauritian Cuisine and very easy and quick to cook. We have had the trees for ages since back in the 50s. When most of the we don't want to eat heavt food this is our go to menu. Now I know why most of us in my family do not suffer from diabetes, blood pressure and other of the comorbidities related to it.

I have grown Moringa for 5 years. While morning waterings, I have developed a habit of just breaking off some tender leaf stems and eating them raw. This doesn't hurt the Moringa tree because it causes the tree to go into overdrive to replace the missing stems. Be careful at first, most people can feel a peppery type taste in the back of the throat.

Powder Moringa is really alien to me. Growing up we only know how to consume fresh Moringa leaves. We pluck the newly sprouted ones(light green) and avoid the dark green leaves. However, my theory is that the darker leaves have more minerals on them hence it's a bit bitter/spicier.

One very important benefit i would like to share for lactating mothers. My forty year old daughter recently had a baby boy and i added mornings leaves in almost all her meals. She was able to breastfeed her child so well and never needed top feed for the past 9 months. She ofcourse introduced him to solids after 6 months. The boy is extremely healthy with no ailments whatsoever, no teething problems. It's because of the benefits of moringa leaves. In Southern part of India, lactating mothers are fed with moringa dishes. Also it used to be regularly consumed until other fad foods came about.

When I was growing up in my country (Philippines), we called Moringa as " Malunggay " tree. The trees grow every where and we called them "the poor man's diet", little did I know that these trees are very valuable trees in terms of health food. Thank you for sharing about your knowledge about this tree.

This is truly remarkable and inspiring! I have been learning about the numerous health benefits of Moringa, and I am thoroughly convinced that it is the right choice for me, especially considering my age of 58 and pre-diabetic condition. I am fully committed to incorporating Moringa into my daily diet starting today!

I love moringa! My late momma used to cook this and I love it. We had a moringa tree and now I wish that I had one. To know that it is popular for health reasons is just incredible. Thanks for sharing this. Totally awesome.

How did your mom cook it? Have you seen it in grocery stores in the U.S.?

@@robertorubalcava4422 I have a hard time searching for it. But it's usually in the grocer section of the fruits and vegetables in most Asian stores. You can even find them on Amazon. Just ask for moringa from your local stores. They may look funny at you because they might not yet know about it.

@@LaurenBradburyFarm I find the leaves that my momma would cook. What she would do is just make stewing chicken broth/soup and when it's finally cooked, she would add the moringa leaves. Remove the leaves from its stems. Gosh, now I'm hungry just sharing this with you. Lol. Seriously, ask for it from your local grocery stores. You can find them on Amazon, too. Apparently they have moringa in powder form. That's new for me, but I'm making it as a tea with ginger and turmeric. Different but I ad monk fruit to it. I hope that you find it.

1 Moringa can grow almost anywhere unless it is too cold. 2 It is indigenous to the Himalayan foothills in India not elsewhere . 3. Moringa is a South Indian word The Ayurvedic name is Shobhanjana 4 Fresh moringa leaves and the vegetable have been part of South Indian diet for over a thousand years 5 There is hardly a more nutritious food.
