Huge games by Laviska Shenault and Donta Foreman. Panthers knew that they were the underdogs and somehow made sure their guys became fully ready to play football. Awesome work from Marquis Haynes and Brian Burns too. It seems like putting different looks on Mariota was the key for Panthers success. The pass rush defense mattered even though Drake London could score for Atlanta offense. I really like Falcons offensively so to now know they are 4-6 wins losses is definitely a surprise.🤔 Either way Carolina did their job and for that they deserve much credit. Terrace Marshall and Shi Smith; I also noticed you guys🏈 catching ball well. Im just glad the field goal attempts ended in scored points. Terrific win

I had said after the win over Tampa that I felt the Panthers had a chance to make the playoffs. Then we dropped that game against ATL. Followed by a sound whopping from CIN. If we could just string together a few victories we would still have a chance. After last nights win I've got that feeling again. Sports analyst love to point out how weak this division is and can only concentrate on the old man from Tampa wether he's winning or losing. I hate that. Haha! Though he's looked better in the NFL than expected, will probably be able to make rosters as a backup for a while, especially on teams where QB is more of a factor in designed runs. It's a nice story at least, XFL helped him out quite a bit. Don't think we'll see him pull a Geno Smith (statistically unlikely), but I could see teams using stuff closer to a Greg Roman offense having him as #2 or #3.

Mariota was at his best in college when he was able to run the pass run options. It got the ball out of his hands quickly and minimized the sacks. As for Carolina they've figured out what the Browns did. It's not about a strong arm at QB that is flashy. It's about having a QB that is smart with the ball and makes good decisions.

It’s more than that. You have to be the most complete QB in life because like Dan Marino or John Elway. They had the pressure every week of their careers to prove that they’re the goods. So for my theory. Today’s QBs like Patrick MAHOMES is expected to be better than everybody, every year. So for Mariota, he didn’t deliver. I will say he is a slippery mobile QB that at best can extend plays well and he has a rocket arm which he proved with that 72 yard dime. Only draw back is he is a bit short.

Falcon’s coaches definitely aren’t putting their players in position to succeed and the rain doesn’t help, but some reads and throws from Mariota really make you scratch your head. Kyle pitts had a 20 yard gain at least with only a safety over top and Mariota doesn’t even get the ball close to him, then tries to throw the ball away while spinning to the ground like it’s the last play of the game
