I met Rob Thomas when they came to Burlington Vermont back in 98 and he told me this was his favorite song on the album:) He hugged me and I made him laugh when I asked him if he had a significant other lol. This album was a huge part of my life in the 90s and early 2000s. Was always playing in my car. I’ve lost that love of my life. He was murdered 5 years ago. His killer will finally be sentenced in September. He was with me at this concert. I remember it so clearly. And I’ve still got the shirt rob autographed for me. I’ll always treasure it ❤️

Its 2023 and im listening to this Masterpiece of a Song and The lyrics hit hard. I love Matchbox 20 and Rob Thomas gives me Goosebumps. I miss the 90's a time when life was a lot simpler. We had our ups and downs but nothing compared to what's going on Today. This music makes you sit and reminisce about life. I cry every time listening to this Song because the way Rob sings and expresses how I've felt at times. This Song was so underated. Rob Thomas makes me feel better every time I listen to him sing. Sometimes its hard to get back to good.

I used to just smile at the people downtown who wouldn't even say hello to me when I was homeless. This song would always come to mind. Some poor soul had the misfortune of crossing my path one day when I had a couple of drinks and I rarely drink. I was right at the part where he says lookin inside we're the same. Well everytime I would see that guy after that he would say hello. So if you are that guy and you pass a homeless person just please acknowledge them with a hello. That person may be who i was, a guy who relapsed on Xanax and got the Police K9 turned loose on them and lost everything while healing up
