just built a BP turtle ship on supreme server, it was overweight when dropped in water with no amo, supplies, npc's..sank in the harbor..Thanks Atlas once again :)

Had a feeling something was updating. Go figure as soon as i get back into it lol. Logged in yesterday to finish off the pirate base id been fighting, but the screen was just black and on the bottom of the screen it said something about a gunport being destroyed. Wonder if its updated on xbox yet. Love to throw some junk sails on that turtle ship.

Poor squid XD You could potentially use the smoke screen for an invasion fleet, or escape or even a diversion

Is it possible to close the batch on the top? I have 3 large sails so they don't work. Is there any other way??

I made a turtle ship from a legendary blueprint with 10 sailings points. I could place 3 large sails on it. 2 handling, 1 weight. It´s very fast BUT turns like a train. U have to put down sails to like 10% for a reasonable turn. Turns much better with medium ones but then u ll lose speed. Will try to figure out the best configuration but it seems medium sails are too slow for long runs and the large ones crippling turning. It can take quite a lot of damage but with that very bad turning it takes too long to kill high lvl galleons...and u can´t replace cannons with better ones. Not to mention repairs are pretty expensive, it´s actually cheaper to replace the whole module lol. It´s actually a good concept but badly executed. half baked design. With better turn speed it could be a killer but still rear cannon brigg is the most convenient way to kill SOTDs. All these modular ships seem to have the exactly same model, extremly fast with large sails but extremly bad turn behaviour at even medium speed.

Thanks for still making atlas videos. Wish The devs did a little better with this game. would be a great game except for all the bugs. Wish they would add the towers to single player at least.

Yeah, I know certain buildings can’t function. But we could build them just for the looks. Although the towers could easily function for single player, that won’t hurt anyone.

Atlas was made from an early version of Ark's engine. They were sharing employees for a while too. So yeah, a lot of similarities.

very sad that they didnt make the turtle ship as real. They had three floors; first for storages and beds, second for rows, the top for cannons

I can only assume there is something in the game engine that made them want to make it so straight. For me it's the shape. It's a modular ship, so you will probably be able to swap the bottom row of cannons for oars to make it closer from that perspective. I just haven't tried modding the ships yet.

Does the location of the helm, on the turtle, mean that we can put it a cabin on other ships and still achieve 3rd person view??

Yes, you should be able to enclose your ship wheel and still go third person.

Thanks for the video! Off topic, but any advice on where to find metal? I tried the greenish rocks on many islands and it only gives me flint, limestone, and stone. I’m relatively new to Atlas, so any tips would be great!

You should be able to press "H" when looking a resource and it will tell you what is in there. The freeport start area does not have any metal, so you have to change grids at least once to find it. Otherwise, nearly all rocks should have at least iron in it. Which grid are you in?

How do you even repair these ships? Got the patch kit and armour kit but can’t equip them and when approaching the module I wanna repair it doesn’t come up with anything to select repair but shows I have that stuff to repair it…… Xbox

I think you need to find a repair hammer still. I think it may be a different repair tool than the normal one. I will double check when I can get on next

@@Skarvig all good brother I worked it out need both patch kit and armour kit in inventory and then the repair hammer equip to hotbar and hit right trigger to show repair bar on screen

Hey mate, just rejoined the world of Atlas after a break of about 2 years, I've specced into master shipwright, have an advanced shipyard but It's not showing the turtle in the craft list. If i search it in craftable items under skills, it says the craft costs have now been changed to not need gold now. The problem is, I can't find where or how to craft it even after learning correct skills and have the right(?) shipyard. Is there something I've overlooked?

That's right, they changed it in a later patch. Ships like the Broadsider, Turtle, Mortar and Harrier are blueprints you find in sunken treasures. The Kraken Ship appears to be a reward from the Kraken fight. So the ones you can make are the Cog, Carrak and Tramp Freighter.

Yeah you just build them, it’s supposed to be changed to build from a skeleton like the old ships, but that remains to be seen in the upcoming overhaul.

That atlas map and hand held map don't work on single player, and probably not on unofficial ones as well. Waiting for the fix for that one.

You need to put coal resource in the dragon head at the front and press Shift Z while driving. Unless that got changed.

On the official servers you have to do sunken treasure to find the blueprint. Then make it in the advanced shipyard.

Basically yes, it has an armour HP and well as the regular decking HP. Plus I believe the sails can’t be hit till the armour is gone.

Hard to know, I haven't heard any specific date. The last wipe announcement was messy, so I expect they won't say until they are sure of it.

I agree, with speed being the current must have. Unless they can come up with a counter to a fast ship, this will not get used.
