One thing to add in the future: use KZbin’s built in video-recommend and subscribe features for the end of your videos! It places them at the last 15-20 seconds of the video. Great way to increase your sub/view count when people watch videos til the end

Noah Chrysler thanks for watching! Yes, for the price point this jacket should not fall apart at 100 miles in the field. Thanks for the tip and hopefully this video helps someone buy the right synthetic jacket.

Great video! Quick question, I live in snowy Lake Tahoe. Do you think the nano puff would do alright against the snow with its water repellent?
@MetroOnTheMove2 жыл бұрын
It does repel but it is not a rain jacket. I wear this nano puff jacket when going out in the snow or rainy conditions. It will dry much faster than a down jacket.

Great overview! Score on getting the discount on the first jacket. How strange that the filling is coming out of the more expensive jacket - definitely not something you'd want from a jacket at any price point, let alone if you paid $299!

Bro just watched ur review after a year Kindly help me as in Pakistan Patagonia is not available How can I get to the nano one? One more thing, here in Pakistan temperature is like minus 5 in some areas, so which one is better nano or micro? Also Adidas n Nike down jackets r available. Shall I buy these???

I own both and love both. The micro puff is more expensive because you are paying for it being much lighter and equally as warm. (I personally think the micro puff is warmer because of the high loft). If weight is not an issue get the nano puff.
@MetroOnTheMove4 жыл бұрын
I love my Nano puff and it is my go to synthetic jacket. I ended up getting the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer 2 Down Jacket and it is super warm and light. I decided that it din't make sense to have two synthetic jackets and with the issues I had with the micro, I just went with the down. To each their own right? Cheers
@TheJosephReyes4 жыл бұрын
Niiice I actually just ordered a MH Ghost Whisperer 2 a couple hours ago because I found a great clearance deal on one. I use my nano everyday and for traveling because I love the chest pocket. I have heard the Ghost Whisperer is warmer than the micro... during cold winters I plan to layer that under one of the two synthetic jackets for added warmth. Mountain Hardware also just came out with a Ghost Whisperer UL which is under 7oz.!
@MetroOnTheMove4 жыл бұрын
@@TheJosephReyes You will love the GW2! I actually use it the same way. Layer it under the Nano Puff. I got the jacket versus the hoodie and it works out great! Have not heard of the UL version but will go check this out! Cheers

What about the warmth factor? Is the MicroPuff noticeably warmer than the Nanopuff
@MetroOnTheMove5 жыл бұрын
Jo Ono nope. In fact, I would say that the nano puff keeps me warmer than the micro puff. I tested both over hundreds of miles in the cold and my go to is the nano puff.
@masoudabdun-noor86754 жыл бұрын
@@MetroOnTheMove standing still worn over just a standard base layer (let’s says a 150 gm merino T-shirt) the nano will feel slightly warmer since the inner and outer shells are twice as thick (20D) so it will retain more heat while stationary, but as soon as you start moving the micro will pick up equal heat, but the Quantum G shell is much lighter which is more breathable yet still wind proof, and the plumafill is obviously more airy which makes the vapor transfer better. I’m not saying it’s nano air breathable, but between the nano and micro there’s a more airy feel, and less likely to overheat. Micro is comfy at a wider range. Peep how they just put out the Thermal Airshed, 65g plumafill with Airshed shell...but unlike the original Airshed and the newer pro version the fabric isn’t milled by Pertex.

@@MetroOnTheMove do you like the hooded jacket more?
@stevegilette96065 жыл бұрын
For a comprable jacket to the Micro Puff, try the Enlightened Equipment Torrid Apex. It's phenomenal and about $150 cheaper. I love Patagonia, I've got alot of their stuff but for UL hiking vs warmth it's the wsy to go. It's prob not as durable as the Nano Puff, it's got the same fabric as the Micro without all the thru stitching.

Which one is thinner?
@MetroOnTheMove5 жыл бұрын
Silver Põllupüü the Nano Puff has a thinner profile in my opinion.
@masoudabdun-noor86754 жыл бұрын
I’ve worn both extensively for years, the main factor is the 10D Pertex Quantum shell, if it’s too thin for your end use as an outer layer the nano is better. But the micro is not nervously fragile, and it’s more versatile and superior as a mid-layer. I love both, but truth be told the micro is an upgrade
@MetroOnTheMove4 жыл бұрын
Agreed! The Nano is the way to go and can be suitable for most weather conditions when used with layering. The micro is like a camp jacket in my opinion or another layer as you said. Cheers

diesel828 nope. This product (micro puff) doesn’t perform as well as the nano puff.
@brotendo5 жыл бұрын
Metro On The Move You mentioned price like 15 times in a 4 minute video, and it’s also impossible to divorce yourself from the fact that you paid only $50 for the nano puff. Also, you didn’t even give the micro puff a chance by exchanging it to see if you got a defective product. In a thorough review, you should at least address those things and the possibility that you are influenced by the price difference with the used jacket you got at a good deal.
