Atoto S8 Head Unit Upgrade for my 05 Honda Element (HUGE Upgrade!)

I recently upgraded my old head unit to a 10” touchscreen unit from Atoto. This is a massive upgrade for these old Hondas, in 04 having an aux Jack was honestly pretty forward thinking, but it was time to bring the 2004 Element into 2022.
I have installed head units on almost all of the cars I’ve owned over the years (25+) and this is by far one of the easiest installs I’ve ever done. If you’ve never installed a head unit before, watch this video, and I’m sure you can do it yourself. I believe in you!

Yellow - yellow
Red - red
Black - black
Orange “illumination” to orange
Blue and white - blue “amp turn on” split from radio harness to parking brake bypass to conversion harness
Black to black on both head unit, conversion harness, and parking brake bypass
Green bypass to brown “parking brake” head unit wire

How do you feel about the top part of the screen blocking the AC vent? Aesthetically does it bother you at all? And does it block air flow much?

I want to upgrade my system. Unfortunately ur video filming was blocked by ur head most of the time. And I hv no idea about how the harnesses works.

let us know how it heats up from those vents. How is the FM antenna? I always find factory radios always bring in stations better for some dumb reason.

Fm antenna sounds great, I will post back when I start using the heat- still a balmy 60 degrees today in Buffalo NY but winter is coming!

Drove the car for about 4 hours total today, heat full blast, no issues with the head unit to report!

I do not, as I didn’t use it- this head unit has Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The factory aux is pretty pointless.

I also have an 05 Honda Element and even though I'm a tech nerd, when it comes to cars and the differences between an android auto and an android head unit. Well I'm a total boomer. Did this come with every cable you needed or did you have to buy additional cables or whatnot from say crutchfield?

there are a million resources for hooking this and any other Unit up in the Honda Element Owners Forums... There are plugs that will alow you to keep or delete the factor amp and or Subwoofer... As for the Android thing, Android auto is more of a Program built into a lot of the newer head units by the larger companies. These Off shore independent units are all use Android as their core OS, much like your phones.

Is the parking brake bypass wire included in the wiring harness or do you have to buy it separately?

It is not included. I don’t really even know if it’s needed. I installed it anyway, but for this one it might not be. The pioneer I had before this it was definitely needed.
