Crochet Scarf for Beginners (Take 3) | Easy Pattern to Crochet Scarf in 1 Hour!
Even though the Atreyu Crochet channel is for beginners, I think it's necessary to build upon the basics. The great thing about crocheting is that even the most complicated of patterns can still be broken down to the very basics of crocheting.
Don't ever approach a crochet pattern with doubt. Simply break down the pattern and approach it one stitch at a time. If a stitch is foreign to you, then find a KZbin tutorial on it, learn the stitch, and resume with the pattern. Although our starting point is that of a beginner, it is also true that that is not our destination.
Happy Crocheting! :)

The scarf is about 5 inches (14 cm) wide and 64 inches (162 cm) long; although, you should use dimensions that are suitable for you. That's why I didn't include them. I hope that helps everyone!

Hey, it's me again. I just got through watching the scarf tutorial right after the hat. Love it. Thank you. As I stated I've been crocheting since I was 12, and my husband passed on Dec 19, 2007. 2 yrs after his death I had been so down I started buying yarn whenever I went out. 🙃 To make it short, there werer some sick people at my church so I asked the Pastor if it would be alright if I started a Prayer Shawl Ministry and he said that was wonderful. The group we started have made and given out over 1000 shawls and still going. I think it saved.my sanity. I love that you hold your hook like I do. Not many do on KZbin . Thanks again for listening. Stay safe. 🙏🏻💙🧶

You’re very welcome. Thanks so much for sharing your story. I’m sorry to hear about your loss but it’s amazing that you have managed do something very positive as a result. I wish your Shawl Ministry much continued success. How can it not succeed with such selfless intentions, right?! And yes, I noticed that I hold the hook differently than most. That’s cool that we have that in common 🙂🙏🏾

You are a great teacher. I love how you are so intent on making sure the learner can understand where they are supposed to be. When you are first starting out, recognizing what you are looking at can be difficult. Using the yarn needle to point out where in the stitch to enter with the hook was genius. Thanks

I started with 22+2 and I’ve jst finished the first single crochet row and there’s 20 stitches now? There was 22 when I started so I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be like that or I missed a few stitches :/
@AtreyuCrochet
@AtreyuCrochet 9 ай бұрын
I'm thinking that if you started with a total of 24 stitches, then after crocheting that 1 double crochet into the 5th chain from the hook and completing that row, you should have 22 TOTAL stitches. Basically, you started w/ 24 sts but lost 3 sts (24- 3 = 21) by working into the 5th chain from the hook, which means you used that 5th chain and you went back and used the 4th chain to make the criss-cross, which ultimately means you skipped a total of 3 chains. But remember those 3 chains count as a double crochet so that means that you added one stitch back (21 + 1 = 22), which gives you a total of 22 stitches. So yes, it sounds like you lost a couple of stitches somewhere. As you lose stitches, your work will get narrower, so be careful. If you're not too far along, you might want to go back to find out where you lost those stitches. If you are far long and it's not too noticeable, then keep going and just be sure to not lose anymore stitches; check your stitch count every couple of rows until you're sure you've got it. I hope that helps!

Blocking is always a good go-to but you really shouldn't be having this problem. Is it possibly related to the type of yarn you're using? Just a thought.

I'm really loving your tutorials!! They are easy to follow I have learned more about crochet from watching you, I also have a question for you, could you please do a infinite granny square blanket? I have tried lots of patterns but they end up kinda lopsided and flimsy and I was wondering if you had a way to it better. Thank you

Thank you so much, Linda! I'm very happy that they are coming across as I intended, easy to follow. I always try to think of things I wondered or questioned when watching tutorials. I will look into this infinite granny square blanket. My struggle is always finding the time to crochet and make videos but I will add it to my list. Thanks!

I am a beginner and able to do the stitches but keeping count was a problem. I got some stitch markers where in the ends should they go? For example the beginning chain does the stitch marker go on 16 or 18?
@AtreyuCrochet
@AtreyuCrochet Жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand the question. If you’re saying chain 17 and 18 will count together as one stitch (i.e., 1 dc), then the stitch marker can be place on the top chain of chain 2. Basically, use the stitch markers to mark the stitches so that you know where the beginning and end of your work is. Hopefully that helps.

Extra difficult to get the hook through the last stich in the row. Didn't really like that
@AtreyuCrochet
@AtreyuCrochet Жыл бұрын
😂 Don’t be discouraged by that. Just insert your hook wherever you can get in toward the end of the row. Also, it might help to loosen your tension on those beginning and ending stitches. This will help with your hook insertion. I hope this information helps! Stay positive!🙂🙏🏾
