“Take the money and run” is actually even funnier. I’m unsure if he had done the piece before or they had just agreed on the piece, but they actually only paid him $2k to do the art, the actual piece was supposed to be the remainder like tacked to the boards or something. The courts ruled that although they respected the art he turned in, he was still only entitled to the agreed $2k and had to pay back only the money intended to be used in the piece.
@randomhatguy4020 Жыл бұрын
Just read an article and the artist and the museum both pulled a “you know the money not being there almost makes it valuable and thought prevailing” yes the museum did still sue him to get there money back…. Even if it was artsy 🤦♂️

I dont think it's crazy and there is nothing to do other than "accept" it. Anyone within a position of power in politics is going to abuse it eventually and the only ones that can stop it.. are other people of power who also abuse theirs. It's just a human issue, nothing our society can fix. Any form of government has this problem and even if it may be prohibited, that doesn't matter if everyone who has a say is corrupt.

For “Take the Money and Run” the key fact is that they specifically commissioned pieces that were supposed to be $70k in dollar bills attached to the boards to create a design, and then a couple thousand dollars in commission to the artist. The museum didn’t sue for the commission back, they just wanted the money that had been meant as art supplies. It would be like them buying a giant slab of marble and the guy turns in a clay pot, the value of art is subjective so maybe they still deserve compensation for the pot but there’s no scenario where they get to just keep the slab of marble.

22:05 Grocery Stores: "Oh noooo 7% inflation we have noi choooiice! 😭😭😭" *quietly raises prices by 70%*
@michaelvossen72538 ай бұрын
The before and after prices are misleading because the previous price was a clearance sale. The original price is too small to decipher, but it is still safe to assume that prices have increased between 10 and 20 percent from one year ago. Marketing teams usually have a good idea of what consumers are willing to pay for a product. Outside of premium or extremely budget goods, it's unlikely to see an mark-up of over 50%.

Some more detailed backstory for the painting. An artist of no particular fame made a piece on inflation where he stuck a bunch of bills (of his own money) behind a glass frame. It resonated with a lot of people because of the state of the global economy - people feel the funds they need to sustain life are just beyond their reach and it got him famous overnight. The art museum commissioned him to do that but again, and supplied the bills for him to do so. He took the commission money along with with extra bills and returned a blank canvas then dipped. That's why they're suing him. In my opinion, this story makes the piece worth existing.

Mayyybe the freezer door screen thing (if it wouldn't glitch/blackout/etc) would be nice to help prevent issues from the glass fogging up after someone opens the door so that the next person can't see inside and ends up having to open the door and hang out for a solid minute with the door open looking at the contents before repeating again on the door beside it. Like that might actually be a net energy decrease for busy grocery stores? Hey big A, this is a great video as always! Unfortunately, I have a topic that hits close to home for me, and I think you may potentially be interested in covering it. Epic just did something pretty gross to the rocket league community. Its kind of business related so you may be interested. They just announced that they will be removing player trading. Player trading is a huge part of the casual community, and there are people who trade more than they play in some cases. It is an innocent part of the game and epic is removing it. It is for stupid reasons too, they say its to make is "more like other epic games titles" and so they can "put other cars into other epic games". its greedy because they sell cosmetics for upwards of 20-25 dollars, when the actual trading community may only value certain items like those at 100-500 credits (1-5 dollars). I would encourage you to read more about it/watch some RL creators videos on it because it is completely tone deaf and greedy from epic.
