On mine. I use A for trailer brake, X for toggle Engine brake Right on d pad wipers, left d pad light mode, up d pad, high beam Most important one for me is down d pad which resets my camera position in the cabin, facing the right direction

This tutorial is really helpful with explaining each thing which is what I was looking for. But when I am trying to actually set a button for a specific task, such as shifting, the button I press (A) does not appear as my selection. Nothing appears as a selection from the gaming controller, just the keyboard. I have tried to hook the controller with the wire. The controller is being recognized in the one other game I play -- House Flipper. I hope you might know of a trick that could help me get my controller set up. So far, your tutorial is the best and most informative that I've seen.

The only thing I could actually think of is if you’re using steam overlay or not. I know that steam uses it’s own programs and shit to compute the controller to keyboard. Definitely take a look into that. If you go into big picture mode and then to the settings there should be a setting where you can configure your controller to translate for Xbox or ps4

I got an issue. Whenever I go to set my throttle and brakes in controls, the settings reads the triggers as a button and not an axis. So when I go to drive and barley push in the throttle, it immediately goes to 100% throttle when it's supposed to be only about 10%, same with the brakes. So it's like keyboard where they are buttons and not proportional throttle/brakes which is what they should be. It was working before but I did something to my settings that I don't remember. I never changes it when I first used controller. Do you have any advice or know what to do? Thanks.

This is so fucking cool. I thought the only way to be able to play with game properly was with steering wheel, I have a g29 but it just doesn’t sit right. The steering wheel is made for little kids it’s so small 😂 it’s to the point where I’d rather play with controller or build myself a racing rig with replaceable steering wheels

It won't allow me to assign the air horn to the left stick when you click it in it asks me what button when I click in the left stick it assigns the keyboard letter for using it with a keyboard instead of a command from my controller

This must have been before controller support was broken there was an update to the game that broke controller support so now controller are only able to be used partially

On controller you don't, you just switch between all 18 gears, so from neutral you have to click the shift button 18 times

With my control setup. It's hard to even have or find a button to be mapped to the clutch. So I drive in sequential transmission. You might have to tweak it a little bit you add in the clutch for you. But I only drive in seq.

Sure sucks I can't use my ps5 controller for this game. It works, but ATS will not let me edit the buttons or anything. I see other people are having issues too. I tried my nintendo pro controller and it works, I can change the layout and stuff, but only in the control wizard and not in the options you show here. I can not change it from keyboard and put it in joy stick or any other option.

Setting joystick thru big screen? I’ve never even had to do that when I do my setups… I didn’t add windows cause there are not a lot of buttons on the controller that you can set to open windows.. I gave the most important controls to get the user setup.

I had issues too. Try to turn off steam client for your controller by going into steam and click settings, go into controller settings and un click the type of controller you have if its checked, the open ATS and use thier setup wizard. That way ATS will recognize the controller and you can set it up within ATS like he shows here.. Also you can do this method backwards if you are still having issues, such as go into steam, go into ats and find controller support on the banner of the game title next to workshop and stuff, then you can adjust them from steam.. when using steam you can have 1 button do 2 effects. Such as a long press. So I can click D pad left for low beams and then if I hold D pad left it will do high beam lights. I use this for blinkers and shifter using the LB and RB, tap LB RB will shift gears while holding LB RB will turn on blinkers or cancel them. there are trade offs using ATS controller support vs steam controller support. Good luck. Lol.
