Original Show: Attack on Titan
When man-eating Titans first appeared 100 years ago, humans found safety behind massive walls that stopped the giants in their tracks. But the safety they have had for so long is threatened when a colossal Titan smashes through the barriers, causing a flood of the giants into what had been the humans' safe zone. During the carnage that follows, soldier Eren Jaeger sees one of the creatures devour his mother, which leads him to vow that he will kill every Titan. He enlists some friends who survived to help him, and that group is humanity's last hope for avoiding extinction at the hands of the monsters.

@@SofaandChill all i can tell you is that, while we remember this episode as one of our favorites scenes of all times in terms of suspense and betrayal/reveal, it is not even in my top 10 moments of "crazy" things that are about to ramp up for you. Definitely still in my top 3 or 5 moments of the show overall, but in terms of shock and feels you're about to get? this is... old news :D

Congrats on reaching this iconic episode! You'll probably get more views on this video than any other AoT reaction ... or at least until late S3. It's a bit of a shame you knew this was a big episode -- the shock is even better when you don't know anything's coming. Then again, I've seen plenty of reactors with no warning who leave that scene more confused than shocked, so maybe it's all for the best :)

I remember how excited I was for my son watch this one. He wasn't seeing it coming at all... Until, a day before, searching for a background for his tablet, he read somewhere "Reiner vs Eren" as a label to a quite explicative picture. So he came to me asking "Dad... is possibly Reiner the armored??". I thought I wanted to scream in scorn 😂 So happy you hadn't anything spoiled instead!

I think that only Chainsaw Man episode 8 reaches this level of greatness, plot-twist and emotions wise. There aren't many animes that achieve this.

Remember back when Annie first appeared as the Female Titan? Well during that whole ordeal, Armin had pretty much already figured out it was Annie. He was already suspicious of her because because of the ODM gear incident with Marco, but he confirmed it with his whole "Suicidal Bastard " shtick. Well shortly after that Armin, Reiner and Jean were stuck outside the wall with only two horses. Armin realizing that he was probably the weakest link, offered to get left behind while the other two go find help, but only on one condition. That Reiner report "something" directly to Commander Erwin if possible. If Armin told Reiner he knew Annie was the Female, things would have turned out VERY different, but Historia came with an extra horse just in time. Also, the English version of this episode has a few things that I think are much better. For one, Reiner slips up when talking about being crushed by the Female Titan. Instead of saying " when I almost got crushed in that Titans hand" he said "When Annie almost crushed me". The thing is, Reiner and Berthold shouldn't have known Annie was the Female, because they were under watch at that house in the middle of the plains when Annie was being captured along with the rest of the 104th Cadet Coprs (minus the ones present during Annies capture) Also when Berthold transforms in the English version he lets out a roar that really sells the scene. A couple in interesting facts about this scene. The song that plays is called YouSeeBIGGIRL/T:T. This song only ever plays twice in the entire show. Right before Reiner and Berthold transform, the flash that covers the screen actually overlays a still image from the manga, of their titans face. Last episode, right before the tower was about to fall, Berthold was about to bite his hand to transform into a Titan. and the real kicker, these two are foreshadowed to be titans VERY far back. As far back as season 1 epsiode 3. When Eren is recounting his experience the day the wall was destroyed, as he says the name Colossal Titan, the camera cuts to Berthold, and as he says the Armored Titan, it cuts to Reiner. and despite every single one of the other cadets in the room being completely engrossed in Erens story, Reiner and Berthold dont even look at Eren, and seem bored, almost as if they've heard his story before.
