Ah dear Aubrey, sad to hear you have been going through an injury. I think many of us have had a few niggles the last couple of months, and that speaks to how eager we all are to strive to be the best we can. When we met in Victoria park, I was also just coming back from a similar injury, believe me it gets better, but give it time, and there's always plenty of aerobic development possible whilst keeping the stress and strain down to a minimum! Goodwood looks great and is up my street for the kind of course i'd love to have a crack at. If you're going again, let me know and i've love to run one with ya.
@AubreyRunning9 ай бұрын

I think lil Aubrey is Creeping up on you in the brutally honest category 🤭….”just mostly here for the cookies”……speedy recovery on the lumbar thing.🙏🏻 One thing that made a tremendous difference in my overall mobility from Achilles right up to neck,is paying more attention to spinal mobility exercises with a dowel rod.I realized my thoracic spine wasn’t flexible enough therefore my lumbar spine was being overworked.IMO rotational/spinal exercises are one of the most neglected exercises with runners ,focusing mostly on the sagittal plane.I’ve also used an inversion table in the past and still do,for spinal decompression.I suspect you already know this,so pardon the redundancy.Keep ‘em coming ,your vids are like a full course meal with dessert.🏃🏿♂️👊🏽
@AubreyRunning9 ай бұрын
What would you say is a good set of exercises for this. If I was to plan around a 1 hour work please advise on a a few movements with sets and reps and I’ll manage the weight.
@robnbyrd24758 ай бұрын
@@AubreyRunning There’s a (spinal mobility)Utuber “Dr Dan’s Plan “,he has a dowel rod series.(Google “dowel rod series rotational “Very good ,takes 5-10 minutes ,good pre run warm up and I use only 3….thoracic rotational,side bends and front to back.I would do them wide stance and shoulder width apart….4’ -6 ‘dowel required,broomstick will do.I’ve got some good info on “ the spinal engine theory “ and another one on rotational torque in runners.Let me know and I’ll send elsewhere,for some reason I’m having trouble putting links in this space.Hope this helps and hope you’re back to 💯 soon🙏🏻👊🏽

McDonald's needs to send you a check. You can sell anything - kid's too cute & is winning with the dimples. Flying blind, sounds like a subluxation in lower spine (disrupting a nerve) and if small/minor can self-heal. Strengthening your core will help (the plank and cobra yoga positions & crunch exercises). Good luck.

I know what your going through m8 🫤 I have a bulging disc in my lumbar spine L5 S1 , I done it in 2014 deadlifting in the gym , I was really bad was out of work for 5 months then on pain killers for years just to get by , it was probably 2017 before I was basically pain free tho still flares up sometimes from time to time but I sort of know what I can & can't do , I actually hadda give up running in 2014 as sciatica in my leg/butt would be agony after I tried & only got back to running in 2021 , hopefully you've caught it quick enough & can learn to manage it , all the best 🏃🏾♂️
