You guys are doing a great service to the hobby in general...Old junkyards are disappearing at an alarming rate. 20years ago,these cars were barely of "parts car" status...Now it's what's left to restore! And there are far less of them every day! Keep it up Goodpliers and gang!
@dombutler7685 Жыл бұрын
my mom lives in Portugal and about 15 years ago the government ordered all the junkyards to be cleared (apparently it was an environmental issue), the values of classic cars skyrocketed over there and now it's almost impossible to get parts! When it's gone, it's gone forever!

Keep the banana-yellow Cadillac, make it safe and roadable as daily driver for you or someone else with good taste. Its cosmetic imperfections are marks of its virtue and longevity. Vehicle has tons of character and miles more attractive than 99.9% of all other cars. Plenty of comfort and power. Keep saving em from the scrapper-man, Mr. G.

Love your aproach! Saving as much as possible: Turn it into yard art or use those vehicles to save others. Or even make a few of them running cars again! I had a friend with over 700 cars on his car cemetary that he was forced to auction off and scrap all the rest. I saved a small Austin A30 front half that is beside my front door. I even went to help saving a bit of the rest to prevent some parts from being dumped into the scarp bin. I was punished with back problems for helping out for free. But during auction day I did not even bid on any of the cars. There was a Studebaker Hawk I had tried to buy from him since 1978! It had gotten to rough for me at the end. But I tell you there was a bidding frenzy and nearly every rotten vehicle sold for at least twice the value. One of the most expensive cars was a 1947 Mercury without rear axle: It was auctionned off for about 5000$ and the winner paid for it. At the end he did not even pick it up! I love the Rambler Station! It could be a great project for the right person. I(f it would be done better than the one Gas mokey garage put their hands on). Those Ramblers are hopelessly underrated as most Studebakers and Nashes are. I tried to buy a 52 Statesman when I was a teenager. But I could not afford it at the time and the old hag that owned it did not want to let it go. When she died I had to say that I did not want this rusty relict car. In Europe you did not have any chance getting parts for a Nash. That was before the Internet. The Cadillac is REALLY rough. But somehow it would be a crying shame if it would only be used for parts and the rest would get scrapped. But I see it realisticly: Saving this one is a labour of love and financially spoken it does not make a lot of sense. But I pray that someone will save it: What a gorgeous car!

The 56 Cadillac would make a great patina cruiser as long as the frame isn’t rusted out. My 53 Plymouth Cranbrook was in similar condition without the hail when I got it. Even the blasphemy of a 350/350 Chevy combo would be worth doing

That Caddy is very valuable in the state it's in. It's a two-door HT Coupe DeVille. Dents can be pulled. Missing trim can be found. Engines can be replaced. Interiors can be reupholstered. Therefore, do NOT part it out. SAVE IT.
