***** Hi T Lick, thanks for the shout-out! I try to remind myself every day how lucky I am to do what I do, and I'll always do my best to share the feeling on this channel. Even relative to the premium pieces I see daily, the LeBron is special. Even without the King James connection, this watch succeeds on its own terms. Best, Tim

This watch is brilliant. I have a piece however where did you get here leather strap with orange stitching? Mine has a grey stitching. I prefer the orange.

+Rajuan Pasha Hi Rajuan, welcome to our channel! Many of these watches were provided with whichever of several option straps the original owner requested. Due to the special nature and high purchase price of this edition, there was some flexibility at the boutiques to allow strap choices. Best, Tim

+watchuwantinc Thanks Tim, can you recommend a boutique where I can purchase a slightly customised strap? Just asking out of interest.
@the1916company8 жыл бұрын
Well, any Audemars Piguet factory boutique should have access to the full range of straps past and present. But for custom straps (mild or wild!), I recommend ABP of Paris and Camille Fournet. Both offer a blinding array of colors, materials, stitches, bolstering, and even buckles. They can even provide a strap sized only for you with a single perforation! Best, Tim

Great review. I have one of these coming to me. Could you help me figure out if it is legit? Thank you Tim. If you can help or not. You're content is awesome.

Thanks for reaching out! You should have the watch examined by a certified watchmaker. We can detect most fakes in photos, but that's not really a service we can provide over the internet and wouldn't want to take that responsibility for a watch we didn't see in person. Good luck with it!

Hi! I have a small question I wanted to trade a part of my collection for this watch my friend owns it he wants my bigbang 301 2009 my gmt master 2 two tone 2010 my Submariner hulk 2013 , my Chocolate daytona 116515LN 2013 and additional 10 K euro extra, do u think its worth trading for or should I keep this part of my collection , i love the watch lebron james but not sure if its a good investment
@the1916company9 жыл бұрын
PancakeFx Hi PancakeFx, thanks for consulting with me on this proposal. In general, I would only make the trade if you feel that the single Lebron would give you more pleasure than the suite of watches that your friend has requested. And while I do believe the Lebron will hold its value if acquired pre-owned, it's important to remember that where liquidity is concerned, many watches of lesser value can be sold more easily (or individually) than a single watch of exceptionally high value. A $55,000 watch will take a while to sell even if its valuation is appropriate and the watch is well-regarded by collectors. At any given time, it will be easier to sell several Rolex watches or a Big Bang than to sell a single watch like the AP LeBron. Even wealthy individuals often have to liquidate investments or raise cash to complete a wire transfer substantially above $50,000 USD... many people simply don't have the case flexibility to make that purchase without planning. But an 8K-15K Rolex? Far more viable from a sales perspective. I believe that in terms of pure value, your friend is making an offer that is more advantageous to him. Three substantial and popular Rolex models, a Big Bang, and 10K Euro is at least a wash in terms of value, likely more than the LeBron is worth in purely monetary terms, and definitely more marketable from a sales perspective. Realistically, I would only consider the deal without the cash involved, then the value equation would make more sense for you. Best, Tim

Hey Tim many thanks for the advice , not gonna do it and gonna add a YM1 blue or a deepsea D blue to the collection instead better more options than just 1 watch :)

Thank god it's an offshore leave the real royal oak alone. Heaven forbid they would cheapen the brand further by having yet another special edition monstrosity sponsored by the latest fashionable American rapper/sportsman/governor. You can't buy class. For that you buy a JLC!
@the1916company9 жыл бұрын
E14Art Hi E14Art, thank you for visiting our channel! All things considered, I think AP and LeBron did a good job of keeping this watch more tasteful and restrained than it could have been. It's not suited to every taste, and I'll admit that don't gravitate toward this kind of watch. But make no mistake, this watch will be a dream come true for *somebody* out there, just not you or me. Also, AP has made a point of reducing the rate and number of ROO limited edition debuts, and the launch rate has slowed to a trickle since AP overplayed its hand in the late 2000s. As with all of my reviews, I try to look at this AP ROO LeBron James through the eyes of an enthusiast who *does* take interest in this particular type timepiece, and I make an effort to extract the most salient and appealing features when viewed through that critical perspective. But speaking from my personal perspective, JLC is what I buy and what I collect. My watches make cameo appearances in these videos from time to time, and I have a review of the 50mm Richard Mille RM032 coming tomorrow that features my JLC Master Ultra Thin 34mm for comparison purposes. Best, Tim

watchuwantinc I'm sorry if I came across in anyway abrupt or rude. It's just that I find it tedious when a great manufacturer cheapens itself. I'm sure the piece is great it's just the tangent it represents that I find uncomfortable. Great vid as always, keep up the good work.

E14Art No offense taken on my part! This is a passionate hobby that inspires strong emotional responses, and I understand the concerns of AP fans who worry about linking nearly 140 years of heritage to a flash-in-the-pan phenomenon like celebrity status. Also, I understand that giant gold sports watches are not everyone's style, and I'm part of that group. The LeBron is a strong effort within its segment that does justice to AP's reputation for concept execution and finishing quality. It is - legitimately - everything most Hublots pretend to be. But at the end of the day, you and I would choose something else based on distaste for masses of gold and pop culture ephemera. Thank you for contributing to our channel, and please continue to do so! Best, Tim

Daniel B Hi Daniel, welcome to our channel! There's no doubt AP and Hublot are going for the same client with this class of watch, but the execution of the AP is a cut above. Also, AP deserves more than a little bit of credit for inventing the category in 1993. Fortunately, AP also offers more discreet timepieces if, like me, this type of watch isn't your style. Best, Tim
