Audi A4 B7 Coolant reservoir replacement

How to replace the Coolant reservoir / header tank and bleed the cooling system on a 2006 B7 Audi A4 Estate S line / Seat Exeo 2.0 TDI. Faulty level sensor in tank causes warning light on dash to ping up.

Im loosing coolant but no visual leak under the engine. What would be the cause. I could not find the radiator cap ?

No if the level is ok , it’ll be a faulty level sensor or the wiring

On the U.S. version we have a separate (bleeder) nut on top of the hard line going across the engine. All you have to do is slightly release it when warm, or open it completely (when cold) and pour coolant into the reservoir tank until it comes oozing out of that little bleeder hole from the nut.

That heater pipe does not easily slide by me.. It's kinda stuck. Any ideas? Or should I just use force to get it off?

The water simply disappears from my reservoir and gets to the lowest level. I don't know more what to do there's no water in the garage ground nothing. Don't see how it simply vanishes. Is this a solution? Audi A3 1.9 tdi 2008. Many thanks if someone can please help

are you sure its not leaking through the heater matrix into the car?

@@diydaly Already checked by Audi themselves and no leak supposedly... Even them they say that they don't know how it vanishes and wanted about 4.5 k to get the problem resolved. Once i asked how would they solve the problem without knowing exactly how that water vanishes they got a bit pissed and told they would have to spend some time on the car... I think they know and maybe it is simple but they don't say it to me

Put a new resevoir in, do you happen to know why its leaking through the bottom or should I warranty it out

W vid def gonna try this later I been having coolant issues w my A4. Coolant tank is full to the brim and water pump seems to be working fine. But for some reason my coolant light turns on after 15 mins of driving and the gadge starts going up. Hoping it’s just a faulty tank sensor

Hi can i use coolant if the pipe to the heater is missing..actually both pipes are missing..audi a4 2.0T station wagon

when you say missing has the matrix been bypassed then? if so you need to bleed it via just leaving the cap off

Hi is the coolant supposed to be on the max level mine is just above the min line shall i just top it off to max thanks

Anywhere in the middle is ok but I prefer to set it to the max , yeah just top it up and keep an eye on it

Is the level sensor on the bottom important ? I kinda ripped mine 🤦🏽‍♂️

Not massively , a lot of cars don’t have them but it’s nice to have working as it might save you cooking the engine if you have a leak!

I tried this and no coolant was coming through the little pin hole on the pipe, what could this mean ?
