Lot of people hate German cars in Australia. and main reason is those wonky mechanics who have not even half of knowledge and will cause more damage than fixing anything. We need more people like Jimmy ❤

Cheers jimmy, it’s becoming a familiar tale with Garages. Until the customers wake up it will continue.

I dont know if im lucky but my bmw x5 40d has never had a dpf issue in its life and i got it on 50k miles and its now on 105k. I just service it twice a year on my driveway and use premium fuel. Oh and i drive it very hard most times..600nm of torque and over 300bhp is adictive

That’s nearly 10k in repairs,the car is only worth about that.Ya gotta feel for him.

Where are these garages finding customers who are so willing to part with that kind of money for an old car?!! I've been doing full engine rebuilds for people on cars/vans that in some cases are only just out of warranty, but even then most people don't want to actually pay a lot for the serious amount of effort and man hours that go into such a job! 😮
@lukedrobinson91564 ай бұрын
Don't bother then!
@Altair8854 ай бұрын
@@lukedrobinson9156 Nah, I make good money doing them. Even ended up owning a few really nice motors buying from people who don't want to spend out repairing them😉. It just blows me away how much some people are willing to spend on an old car like that, I mean at what point do you just call it quits and cut your losses. Some garages are just taking the absolute p! Ss with their customers.

How can an industry chargre for not doing there job. Scam, scam,scam. Take them to court. Social media will do wonders for their business.

Charging 700 is scandalous, the fact it didn't work and they only deleted half the system is even more so

The amount of places that cant do just a visual inspection is beyond me, i had a customer recently that had the parts cannon fired at it circa £1000 and 2 months off the road, turns out it was a £20 boost pipe that was clearly faulty when under that car

what is the benefit of doing an EGR delete on these cars? slightly better fuel economy? no gunk buildup in the intake? mine is still fully working but I'm considering deleting it and the adblue system because i saw videos that the EGR cooler gets clogged up with crystalised adblue over time leading to EGR failure

I had same problem with mechanics, same car, so now im doing all myself any repair on averything as i cant trust anyone, even i told which oil pressure sensor faulty garage replaced different just because easy to get there, so payd money and still had to do myself and after all ok😂

People just picked recommend garages or tunners for the first visit not the last one. Feel sorry for the owner. Its a well known fault and fixable for way way lower money.

Bet he wishes he'd left it standard. EGR deletes just move soot into the DPF.
@lukedrobinson91564 ай бұрын
Absolute rubbish where did you google that from?!
@TheGalifrey4 ай бұрын
EGR's don't reduce soot, they reduce NOX at idle and low RPM.

Too many robbing clowns about these days. That said, main dealers have a lot to answer for, their extortionate rates and sketchy service levels (in a lot of cases - not all) are feeding the cowboys with customers.

Bad file solution, if you make sure the egr and adblue is removed properly the dpf will still have a burn up and clean itself.
