Installed mine a month ago. Great system. I've put up a little review video of about it so you can see the functionality in a bit more in depth with the rest of the OEM mmi system. I would recommend this upgrade and install is not too stressful. have a look at other video to know how to remove the glove box. the rest is in this video just take your time.

Yeah it seems to do the job. Since install I would say I’ve had it not work 3 separate times. Each time it has resolved itself after car is left off then back on again a few hours later. I did look into the other systems but the lack of reviews and info put me off.

@@mightybeat888 nice, thank you! I your video you've said that the car had an already installed Bluetooth - that is now obsolete? Also you've swapped the CD changer for Ami - how? and is it now obsolete too? I'm wondering how to replace the 15 year old parrot with microphone and try to handle calls through @mr12volt as well.

So. Factory Bluetooth is needed to handle phone calls. It has its own mic too. After 12 volt install you will have 2 simultaneous connections. 1 to 12 volt the other to Audi MMi. When call comes in/out it switches over to the MMi Bluetooth system then goes back to 12 volt after call. I’ve tried call to test without MMi Bluetooth and it doesn’t work. You can answer calls but no audio. My current Bluetooth module has failed so no calls for me at the moment. For Ami it was just unplugged from cd changer then into 2nd hand ami unit. This allowed me to have and aux in input. This is how I used to get music from my phone into car system. I addded on the end of of aux input a Bluetooth receiver so phone could stream audio wirelessly. I have kept that too just as a back up if 12 volt would to fail. Can still use simultaneously now. Just change input through MMi system. So overall with this 12 volt install I’ve built onto the existing MMi and not lost any other functionality. Bonus having the rear reverse camera too.

Hi, mr12volt only supports on OEM fitted screen. not on other aftermarket screen.

How can I do this with an A6 4F 2008 with the MMI 2g basic plus? My car has the navigation, but not the colour display, and I would still like android auto..

My Audi is a 2005 Audi A6 3.2L Quattro. I installed this in January 2024, and it works like a charm! :) It took me about 1.5 to 2 hours, but it definitely can be done faster. The hardest part is on 5:54

After trying to install this my car will no longer start. I removed all the mr12volt hardware and put all the original cords back where they were but it won’t start. I don’t understand, how does the MMI even mess with the ability to start? What can I do?

The interface gives a add on feature to your original mmi system, it cannot damage your radio system. check for possible connector left out or other possible short circuit during installation.

Hi, I have a 2010 A6 special edition with 2G mmi. The MMI module is in the side of the boot/trunk of the car, not in the dashboard. Can I still install this CarPlay module? Thanks.

2010 A6 should be a mmi 3g not 2g. It works perfectly with 2010 though.

One question, lets say i play a song form spotify but i want to change the EQ settings (i have DSP sound system), how is that going to happen? or simply said is the music playback going to interrupt when i want to change the EQ settings ?

Just go back to the OEM MMI system menu to do it.

it uses MOST bus system thr the fiber optical , therefore it doesnt matter whether it has a ami or not.

You must have left a connector out or damaged a connector, or trapped a cable and caused a short

I installed it and the MMI and carplay works properly but the car doesnt start any more. Also on board computer not working. I retired the Mr12volt instalation and put back the original installation, now the on board computer works and the engine starts but not the airbag, pilot light is on in the board. Do you know why this could happen?

I have asked to Mr12volt and they told me to check the gateway connection. I connected everything again and problem solved. Now I only have to fix the airbag failure 😅. Thanks!!
